15 HOURS PER WEEK/42 WEEKS PER YEAR

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Carry out kitchen duties and washing up duties
_________________________________________________________________________
MAIN DUTIES:
1.
Check kitchen cleanliness and undertake cleaning to a high level of compliance with
health, safety and hygiene regulations.
2.
Check and clean refrigerators.
3.
Ensure that students keep areas clean during practical sessions.
4.
Ensure that hygiene conditions are maintained on working surfaces, walls and floors.
5.
Assist lecturers as and when required.
6.
Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and returned to its correct place, and is
maintained in a tidy and orderly manner.
7.
Notify management of any unsafe or defective equipment.
8.
After each session check that all food is returned and that all areas are clean.
9.
Wrap and label any food that is to be held in refrigerators.
10.
Clean all large equipment.
11.
Deep clean when necessary.
12.
Maintain availability of cleaning materials and order supplies from Stores Technician
when required.
13.
Keep wash-up area clean.
14.
Wash up all china, silverware and glassware.
15.
Keep china cupboard clean and tidy.

Maintain the wash-up as a safe area:
17.
To work to promote and apply the college’s safeguarding policy and procedures.
18.
Perform any other duties as the Principal may reasonably require.
19.
To carry out these duties and responsibilities in accordance with all relevant statutory
obligations and current College policies, procedures and regulations including those
relating to equal opportunities, health and safety, teaching and learning, quality
assurance, financial matters, employment matters, funding and examination body
requirements and data protection.
