Dates and Expectations Teacher Candidates All Blocks FALL 2015
ECED 3282 – Block 1 (grades PreK, K-2):
Orientation Meeting: January 21, Education Center room 2, 9:00- 11:30
THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL BLOCK 1, STUDENTS FROM ALL CAMPUSES
Field Placement Dates: February 2- April 21; TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS
*Placement 2 begins March 15
Field Placement Hours: Teacher contract hours
edTPA Trainings: TBA
Field Placement Requirements:
 Complete Memorandum of Understanding on TK20
● Plan and teach three lessons (Children’s Literature, Health/PE & Key Assessment
Integrated Fine Arts Lesson). Submit written lesson plans to University Supervisor and
Cooperating Teacher for approval 48 hours (2 school days) in advance of teaching.
● Write reflections on lessons taught. Submit to University Supervisor.
● Keep a Practicum Teaching Portfolio Notebook. (Requirements on Wiki.)
● Attend edTPA training sessions. (TBA Dates and times on Wiki.)
● Cooperating Teacher observes one lesson each placement and complete lesson
observation forms in Tk20.
● University Supervisor observes one lesson. More if requested.
ECED 4283 - Block 2 (grades 3-5):
Orientation Meeting: January 22, Education Center Rooms 1 & 2, 9:00- 12:00
THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL BLOCK 2 AND 3 STUDENTS FROM ALL CAMPUSES
Field Placement Dates: January 25 – April 20; MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS
Field Placement Hours: Teacher contract hours

Field Placement Requirements:
 Complete Memorandum of Understanding on TK20
● Plan and teach four lessons (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies). Submit
written lesson plans to University Supervisor and Cooperating Teacher for approval 48
hours (2 school days) in advance of teaching.
● Write reflections on lessons taught. Submit to University Supervisor.
● Keep a Practicum Teaching Portfolio Notebook. (Requirements on Wiki.)
● Video tape one lesson and complete Video Assessment form
● Attend EdTPA training sessions. ( TBA Dates and times on Wiki.)
● Cooperating Teacher completes three formal observation forms in Tk20.
● University Supervisor completes a minimum of three formal observation forms in Tk20.

ECED 4286 - Block 4 INTERNSHIP –
Interns Orientation Orientation Meeting: January 8, 1:00- 3:00, Education Center rooms 1 & 2
Field Placement Dates: January 11- April 22, All Day – 5 days per week.
Field Placement Hours: Teacher contract hours
edTPA Boot Camps: All Campuses: January 15 Education Center Rooms 1 & 2. 9:004:00
GHC Dates: 1/25, 2/1, 2/22. 2/29. 9:00-4:00
Carrollton Group 1: 1/27, 2/3, 2/24, 3/2. 9:00-4:00
Carrollton Group 2: 1/29, 2/5, 2/26, 3/4. 9:00 –4:00
Field Placement Requirements:










Complete Memorandum of Understanding on TK20
Plan and teach four (4) formal lessons in addition to the edTPA Learning Segment (3-5
lessons. Submit written lesson plans to University Supervisor and Cooperating Teacher for
approval 48 hours (2 school days) in advance of teaching.
Write reflections on four formal lessons taught. Submit to University Supervisor.
Minimum two weeks or ten 10 consecutive days of full-time teaching. (Lesson plans may be
written in school’s lesson plan format.)
Keep an Internship Teaching Portfolio Notebook. (Requirements on Wiki.)
Teach and videotape Learning Segments for edTPA.
Attend edTPA training sessions at UWG. (Days and times on Wiki.)
Attend Ethics Training. (Date on Wiki.)
Cooperating Teacher completes two formal observation forms in Tk20.
University Supervisor completes a minimum of two formal observation forms in Tk20.
