Each student will be required to plan a scientific investigation following the scientific method at home. The requirements are as follows: Testable Question Due on Wednesday, November 12,2014 o A testable question has one variable and a control Variable- is the one thing that changes in the experiment Control- the objects/things that stay the same in the experiment When choosing a testable question please do not pick a topic with the following o Humans, Animals, Chemicals, Bacteria, DNA, Fire, Heat, Animal or Human Tissue, Nonhuman Vertebrates Research Plan Due Thursday, November 20, 2014 o Title for your Project o Problem-Testable Question o Hypothesis o o I think______ because______ Materials list List of all materials used in your project Can be typed in alphabetical order Put the amount of each material you used The brand of the material you used Procedures Step by step instructions of what you did in your project starting from beginning to end This needs to be detailed Approval Form (2) pg 15, Due Thursday, November 20, 2014 o Turn this in with Research Plan o Students Sign step 2a o Parents sign step 2b o Parents also sign 2c Adult Sponsor Check box 1 and 2 Only Check box 3 if you used Human subjects, nonhuman vertebrates, DNA, fire or heat, human or animal Tissue, chemicals o Adult Sponsor (parent) needs to sign and approve o Safety Committee will be signed by the school Safety Committee Chair Members Students will not have to turn in any additional paperwork regarding Science Fair Projects until after Thanksgiving Break.
