Duty Statement Position Title Membership and Events Officer AIDA Level 5 Supervisor Communications and Engagement Manager Duties In accordance with AIDA Values and the AIDA Capability Framework, you will undertake the following tasks either individually or as a member of a team – The Membership and Events Officer duties will include: 1. Implement membership recruitment and retention strategies, in line with the Membership and Communication strategies 2. Coordinate the delivery of AIDA events including planning, implementation and evaluation 3. Respond to member inquiries for support and assistance, and provide referrals as required including coordinating mentoring relationships 4. Consult and regularly engage with members and document their needs and priorities including providing leads and content for good news stories 5. Ensure the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) is regularly maintained to reflect the membership and generate reports as required using the database 6. Coordinate the delivery of membership acknowledgements and celebrations including personal and professional milestones 7. Provide Secretariat services to the Membership Committee, Student Representative Committee and other committees 1 of 2 Document1 Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association 8. Support implementation and monitoring of a range of professional information, professional support and professional development initiatives, in line with the AIDA Strategic Plan 9. Identify and pursue opportunities for cooperation and collaboration with relevant stakeholders on professional support initiatives aligned with AIDA priorities 10. Support development of reports, briefs, papers and presentations to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and AIDA Board as required 11. Provide high quality and timely reports, briefs, papers and presentations to the satisfaction of the Manager Communications and Events and the CEO 12. Effectively liaise, negotiate and influence a range of stakeholders in government, non-government and corporate sectors including both Indigenous and non-Indigenous health, medical, professional, policy, research and educational bodies and agencies 13. Effectively contribute to AIDA organisational outcomes, strategic directions, planning, implementation, evaluation and quality improvement 14. Effectively represent AIDA in a range of settings 15. Work as an effective member of the AIDA team including building relationships across AIDA to achieve organisational outcomes Other duties as directed by the Manager Engagement and Communication and CEO. Selection Criteria 1. At least three years’ relevant experience in a similar role engaging with members and planning, implementing and evaluating events. 2. The ability to work co-operatively and effectively in a small team and to model the AIDA values. 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. 5. Ability to take ownership of issues, including issues that may fall outside your immediate responsibility, and proactively resolve them. 6. Proven administrative skills, with capability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines. 7. Strong computer literacy skills and the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite and a CRM. 8.
