WHEREAS,
Michael A. Smallwood retired from the Sheriff’s Office of Bibb
County as Captain on December 31, 2013 with forty-two (42) years
and five (5) months of service; and
WHEREAS,
Michael Smallwood was hired as Assistant Jailor in Corrections on
August 3, 1973; and
WHEREAS,
Michael Smallwood was promoted to Patrolman on November 16,
1973; and
WHEREAS,
Michael Smallwood was transferred to Criminal Investigations on
January 9, 1981; and
WHEREAS,
on January 15, 1981, Michael Smallwood was promoted to
Investigator; and
WHEREAS,
on December 15, 2000, Michael Smallwood was promoted to
Captain; and
WHEREAS,
Michael Smallwood was transferred to Patrol on January 16, 2001;
and
WHEREAS,
Michael Smallwood was transferred to Investigations on July 16,
2001 and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Smallwood’s knowledge, expertise and many years of loyal and
dedicated service to the citizens of Bibb County will be greatly
missed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Bibb County,
Georgia, in regular session assembled this 17th day of December,
2013 that this body does hereby express its appreciation to Michael
A. Smallwood for distinguished public service and regrets that the
public will no longer be the beneficiary of his service; but wishes
for him a long period of happy, healthy and prosperous retirement.
Let a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this
meeting and a copy furnished to Michael Smallwood in testimony
hereof.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Chairman has hereunto set his hand and the Clerk has
