SY recalled key points of the last meeting.
OU/AA Agreement has been signed and will be posted to the OU this week.
Issue of Studio Space. This has since been a problem as the PhD by Design studio Space in
38 basement has been taken away.
Committee approved the minutes.

It is expected that Arthur Aw, Costandis Kizis, and Alexandra Vougia will submit their final
thesis at the end of September 2015.
Aldo Urbinati is still unknown if submitting
Submitting Dissertation / Corrections within 2015-16
Gabriel Felmer, Merate Barakat, Ali Farzaneh, Ivonne Santoyo-Orozco and Jingming Wu are
to submit during the new academic year 15/16.
PVA added that Ivonne is on track but her title of her thesis has changed.
DB mentioned that Jingming Wu is a bit behind with her writing but will submit in
September 2016.
CC concerned that Jingming has not been in regular contact over the past year.
Continuing from previous years

There are 11 students continuing on either their Year 2 or 3 of their PhD.

Returning from Suspension to continue studies
Arturo Revilla, Gabriela Garcia and Serena Jarvis are to return after suspension for Term 2
(January 2016).

New Research students joining AA PhD October 2015
9 new research students will be joining the PhD Programme this academic year.
Directors of studies are already nominated, Second Supervisor nominations in due course.

DB mentioned that during her Visiting School over the summer, she was approached by
two Taiwanese students interested in being Visiting Scholars at the AA.
SY has requested more information on them, such as time, length of stay, etc.
PVA has received a similar request.

Induction
PhD Programme Introduction to the School will be in the Lecture Hall on Wednesday 30th
September.
New Students Introduction will be on Friday 2nd October.
Research Seminars
MC to start PhD Seminars from Week 2 every Friday; ML to give dates for her seminars.
PVA will have his seminars each Wednesday in the mornings.

Handbook 15/16.
SY requested updated CVs from supervisors.
HH expressed concern regarding putting Programme Guides to be downloaded from the
AA website.

OU Clarifications & Guidelines on Ethical Approval & “Learning Organisation”
Ethical Approval
SY reported on the guidelines provided by the OU Research School on the topic of Ethical
Approval.
Learning Organisation
Clarification was also provided by the OU on the topic of “Learning Organisation”
