Introduction – The above construction works at ten recently constructed Primary Schools in
Lakes State referred to in the Bills of Quantities and the Technical Specifications is planned
under Italian Cooperation project and implemented by United Nations Office for Project
Services (UNOPS).

Scope of Works – Supply all labour, materials and equipment for the construction/installation
of steel windows/cladding and brick stove on existing kitchen & standpipes to two existing
rain water collection water tanks all at each of the ten primary schools listed above including
all the required finishes to the approval of UNOPS’ Engineer and/or described in Bills of
Quantity here with attached. All works should be compliant with the descriptions in the
Technical Specifications and Bills of Quantities to meet the following main completion status.






Brick Stove – Supply and construction using bricks in clay mortar to be fitted with
galvanized grills and chimney as detailed in specification & drawings
Masonry Wall – Construction using the concrete cement block to receive the sand cement
render with smooth finish as detailed on specification, drawings & BoQ.
Countertop - Casting by using reinforced concrete as detailed on drawing
Windows and Cladding - Supply and fixing of window units and cladding members made
of hard rigid steel on existing cladding as detailed in specification, drawings & BoQ
comprising the required approved window hardware and painting to receive the
Engineer’s Approval.
Finishes - Rendering/plastering and required painting as detailed in specification,
drawings and BoQ.
Water Tank Fittings - Supply and fixing of HDPE/PPR pipes and push type taps on
existing water tanks complete with related accessories as detailed on specification,
drawings & BoQ.
Site visit: It is recommended that the contractor should visit the site before submitting bid
documents. The client will take no liability for contractor’s failure to visit the site.
Site cleaning – All excess construction materials on site are to be removed and site left neat
and tidy after completion of the works. All debris arising from the construction process shall
be disposed as directed by the UNOPS site Engineer.
