Casino Christian School A Ministry of the Casino Presbyterian Church – since 1995 “Grow in Grace and Knowledge” 2 Peter 3:18 Newsletter No. 131127 God’s Word: “You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68-69) These words of Simon Peter are the ultimate answer to the “serving God or money” question that we all face, which I spoke about last week. Many of those who followed Jesus were merely curious. Others were convinced of the truth of what he was teaching, but only a few were fully and personally committed to him. When his uncommitted followers began to leave him in response to his difficult sayings, Jesus turned to the twelve disciples and asked if they wanted to leave with the others. Although it is doubtful that they understood the Lord better than those who were leaving, they realised that once having committed themselves to him, there was no turning back. If we are disciples of Christ, we are called to remain committed to him even when we are unable to understand him. And no matter what distractions we face, we need to maintain our focus on serving the Lord. ANOTHER SPORTING TALENT REVEALED …… Last weekend I represented our school in the Clarence Valley Interschool Equestrian Challenge with my horse named Ofair. We had to compete in a series of challenges which included flag and bends, barrels, the key and hack. I won three ribbons for second, one for third and one for fourth. There was plenty of competition from other schools and it was exciting and challenging. I was very proud to represent my school. Teachers are back in school for their Planning Day.
