for EDGE scopes using a focal reducer
These new CHL 2.5” large format focusers feature a special low profile hybrid design to allow focal
reducers to be used inside the focuser. We make 3 versions, one for EDGE 8” using the .7” EDGE
reducer, one for the EDGE 9.25” using the Lepus Telecompresser #19410, and a version for the EDGE
11”/ 14” using the large EDGE .7 reducer. Same options and cost as our regular CSL model focusers.

Bottom flange = Special EDGE 8” Focal reducer flange with 2”SCT thread system
Upper flange = .85” standard thickness
Drawtube = .7” travel 68mm thread top style
Knob/Motor = All options, manual and motor system can be installed
Focuser can be used with or without the .7 reducer. The reducer is installed in to the bottom of the
focuser flange, then the whole unit is threaded on to the visual back. Distance from the reducer to
thetop of the drawtube is only 1.6” racked in , to 2.3” racked out. That allows the system to meet the
105mm spacing from the reducer to the CCD sensor easily.
A clear adapter is included free with EDGE 8” focuser and is to be installed in bottom of the focuser
flange if the .7 reducer is not used. This allows the focuser and scope to operate in native mode;
however distance from visual back to camera is much greater when the reducer is not being used. This
focuser is primary designed to operate with the .7 reducer installed.

The CHL model focuser for the EDGE 9.25” has a
special designed lower flange that allows the Lepus
Telecompressor to be installed inside the focuser.
Once the lens is placed in to the flange, the focuser is
then threaded on to the visual back. That will secure
the focuser and lens in the exact required position.
Please note the gold ring is discarded.
A spacer ring also comes with the lens so it can be
used on the 11” EDGE scope as well. However
Celestron makes a reducer for the 11”, so the spacer is
really not requires. This solution is intended for the
9.25”. Distance from the telecompressor to the top of
the drawtube fully racked in is 2.93”. That allows the
system to meet the 105mm spacing from the reducer
to the CCD sensor. The focuser can also be used
without the telecompressor installed.

The CHL model focuser for the EDGE
11” and 14” has a special low profile

the large .7 reducer can install on
the visual back of the scope, then
the Moonlite CHL focuser threads
on to the large reducer using the 3
¼” large thread connection. It
allows the 146mm spacing
requirements to be meet easily.
