“College Goal Tennessee 2015: Navigating Your Future” is a free, half-day conference
that will serve as an opportunity for high school and college students, parents, and educators to learn
from experts and each other how students can be successful in college. We will cover topics from
financial planning for college to what employers are looking for to navigating the college application for
the student athlete and much more. This conference will confront real topics that affect the persistence
of students in college, and it's a rare opportunity to hear the ideas and concerns of all these groups at
one conference. Sessions will be led by business leaders, college admissions and financial aid experts—
the best in their field. Continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
At this conference, College Goal Tennessee will provide free on-site assistance for high school seniors
and current college students filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Time: Saturday, January 31st, 2015 - 9 am - 1 -pm (Registration and meet & greet at 8:30 am)

when you receive one -including one from a college) please go onto Naviance and click on the
COLLEGE tab. Then click on add scholarships and find the scholarship you applied to or which
you received. If it is from a college, just put academic or athletic for the scholarship. Please

UTC Scholarships – In order to qualify for UTC scholarships you must apply to UTC and have
all supporting documents in by Dec 1st. Then fill out the scholarship form AFTER you are
admitted.

SportQuest Playing With Purpose Scholarship Program is a national
program that honors and encourages high school student athletes who excel athletically,
academically and have committed their life to following Christ.
Criteria:
Applying student athletes must meet ALL of the following criteria:
1. Currently a high school sophomore, junior or senior
2. Maintains a minimum "C" grade average or higher
3. Currently a varsity level athlete in one or more sports
4. A committed follower of Jesus Christ

GATES MILLENIUM SCHOLARS- this scholarship will pay ALL expenses at ANY college in the US
and will also pay for GRADUATE studies in 5 areas – To be eligible you must: 1. Be African American,
American Indian/Alaskan native, Asian/Pacific Islander American or Hispanic 2. Have a GPA of 3.3
unweighted 3. Have demonstrated leadership abilities through various extracurricular activities 4. Be
Federal Pell Grant eligible – Forms may be submitted electronically @ http://www.gmsp.org/

ELKS SCHOLARSHIPS Most Valuable Student - Deadline is December 5th to Mrs. Lewis. 480- $4000
scholarships as well as 14 -$20,000 and 6- $30,000 - $50,000 scholarships to be awarded.

Mary Ellen Locher Scholarship - Children of breast cancer patients (both children of
breast cancer survivors and those who have lost a parent to breast cancer) may apply selected on basis of eligibility and essays – community service, grades(must have a 2.5) and
financial need are also considered however, grades will not play a dominant role in the
selection process. Average scholarship is $1000 - You may apply @ www.melfoundation.org

SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes – currently open and running
through May 2015. Drawings for $500 scholarships will be held every 2 weeks until May. You can enter once,

Ronald McDonald Scholarship – Jan 20th - - $1000 scholarship – For applications go to

www.rmhchattanooga.org. Be sure to send in REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS. Based on scholastic achievement –THIS

TN CONCRETE ASSOCIATION - Deadline Dec 1st to Mrs. Lewis – Open to students 16-18
This is NOT a report but an ESSAY on concrete – Not to exceed 600 words Essay idea
starters: Concrete’s positive effects on environment, the job market, etc. – Concrete’s benefits
to society – Concrete is green.
$250 $100 $50 cash prizes Winner will be flown with parents to Orlando, FL - $5000
scholarship if you choose to go into a concrete profession in college, $2000 scholarship for any

ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS – Deadline is Jan 10th but apply ASAP - Full tuition and fees, up to

Ned McWherter Scholars Program:. Tennessee high school seniors starting their last semester in high
school who have at least a 3.5 unweighted cumulative grade point average and scored a minimum composite score
of 29 on the ACT or the SAT equivalent, are eligible to apply. Difficulty of courses and leadership positions held while
in high school are also considered. The student must be a resident of Tennessee, a U.S. Citizen and attend an
eligible Tennessee college or university full time. Applications must be accompanied by an official high school
transcript that contains the applicant’s high school grades through the first semester of the senior year and the
applicant’s ACT/SAT scores. The award is up to $6,000 per academic year. Applications at

National Commission for Cooperative Education - scholarships for their partner schools will be

LUPTON SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT WELLESLEY COLLEGE - each year a small number of students from the
Chattanooga area who are admitted to Wellesley and are eligible for financial aid are designated as Lupton Scholars.
These students receive scholarships, as well as summer internship stipends and may be eligible for loan forgiveness
if they choose to return to Chatt. Following graduation from Wellesley.
