This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Utah Medical Association through the joint
sponsorship of the UMA Foundation and the Utah Dermatology Society. The UMA Foundation is accredited by the Utah Medical Association to provide
continuing medical education for physicians.
The UMA Foundation designates this live activity for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Program Purposes/Objectives

Help the clinician realize the importance of using evidence based treatments when deciding what is the most
appropriate treatment in the care of patients.

What statistical terms should the clinician understand when reading the literature.

Skin infections and infestations in children.
·
Updates in the treatment of pediatric patients including: atopic dermatitis, vascular tumors, alopecia areata
and acne.

How to make a multi-disciplinary approach work in caring for the challenging skin cancer patient.

Infectious disease and dermatology, important diagnostic clues and treatment options
·
HIV dermatoses, what you may not know.
·
Voluntarism in Africa.
·
How to select the right filler for the right indication and patient.
·
Managing filler complications, what everyone should know.
·
How to approach the difficult patient.
·
What is on the horizon of dermatology and quality based payments.
This two day meeting will focus on practical and clinical dermatologic education and updates. Topics will include lectures on pediatric dermatology,
challenging cutaneous tumors, pertinent practice management issues, the current status of melanoma genetics and prevention, diagnosing connective tissue
diseases, and an update of issues facing the specialty of dermatology.

This meeting will consist of short lectures and presentations with ample time allotted for questions and discussions. The atmosphere will definitely be
informal!! Afternoons will be free for recreational activities.

Location and Accommodations
The UDS has reserved a block of rooms at the Red Cliffs Lodge located 14 miles outside of Moab on scenic Highway 128 on the Colorado River. The
discounted room rate is $184.95 per night plus tax single or double occupancy. Each additional guest is $20.00/person per night. Each room includes two
queen beds or one king bed, a pull-out bed, kitchenette, and patio. River front cabins are also available at an additional $100.00/night. Please make room
arrangements directly with the Red Cliffs Lodge. They can be reached at (866) 812-2002 or (435) 259-2002. Be sure to mention that you are with the
Utah Dermatology Society to get your room at the discounted rate.
Rooms at the Red Cliffs Lodge must be booked by April 10th, 2013. We encourage you to plan to stay the entire weekend, however, rooms for Saturday
night are limited. Also, keep in mind that the Lodge has a 30 day cancellation policy and an early check-out penalty will apply, so plan accordingly.
Due to the distance from surrounding lodging alternatives we recommend that you book at the Red Cliffs Lodge and that you book as soon as possible.
If for some reason you are unable to book a room with the Lodge, Moab offers several fine hotels. See their website at www.discovermoab.com.
