There are more than 1000 current members in the
Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Section of the
American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Mission Statement: The Cardiovascular and
Pulmonary Section APTA, Inc serves its members
and the physical therapy profession by promoting
the development, application and advancement of
cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy
practice, education and research.
Vision Statement: The Cardiovascular and
Pulmonary Section - APTA, Inc. will be the
leading advocate and resource for consumers as
well as physical therapists, physical therapist
assistants, and PT/PTA students who provide
health, wellness, preventative and/or rehabilitation
services in a variety of practice settings to
individuals of all ages at risk for, or diagnosed
with, cardiovascular and/or pulmonary
impairments.

ideal choice for professionals working or studying
in the field of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Care
Cardio PT list-serve, a Yahoo group with
active, contributing professionals in the field
of cardiovascular & pulmonary practice.

Clinical Specialists are certified experts who
are willing to assist in mentoring research,

How Can You Get Involved in
Other Section Activities?
The Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Section is
always looking for volunteers. We encourage you
to offer your time and become involved. The
rewards gained from involvement with
cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapists
will benefit your career growth and will also
provide you personal gratification.
Who is Eligible for Partner Status?
International physical therapy professionals, other
professionals not eligible for APTA membership,
researchers and scientists with an interest in
cardiovascular and/or pulmonary topics, industry
partners, and members of the public are
encouraged to join as Partners of the Section.
When you join the Cardiovascular & Pulmonary
Section, you’ll join an active network of physical
therapy practitioners, educators, and researchers
dedicated to the advancement of evidence-based
cardiac and pulmonary rehab in order to improve
care and quality of life in persons with disease or
injury.
How Can You Join as a Partner?
It’s easy - simply complete the application form!
Silver Level Membership is free. Gold Level
Membership is $50.
These fees cover a single year of benefits, and
must be submitted along with this application.
The fee is required annually for each successive
renewal of your Partner Status. Complete the
attached application and submit with your form of
payment.
