This is the "CCC" News, -- From Mrs. King
 Seniors Chicago State University will be taking applications admitting students on-site. Come to the CCC
today to register for this event. You can still go to a 4 year university. Come sign up today.
 New scholarships are available every day in the CCC. This week the spot light is on the Superintendents
Scholarship, Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship and the Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship. Seniors who will attend
a 4 year college or university should come to the CCC for an application for these great scholarships.
 Please congratulate the following seniors for “Taking care of Business”.
o Aariel Wilson has been admitted to Parkland College and Kishwaukee College.
o Jazmine Jefferson has been accepted to Southern IL University Carbondale.
o Kierra Ross has been accepted to DePaul University with a $46,000 scholarship offer.
o Preston Mays has been accepted to Hampton University, with a $60,000 Scholarship offer.
Congratulations Aariel, Jazmine, Kierra, and Preston on your college admissions and scholarship
offers.
Seniors
If you have college acceptance letters, information about your plans after graduation, and or scholarship award
letters, please bring them to the CCC in room 211. You will receive a Special Lanyard for seniors with a Plan, and
the new CCC t-shirt to wear on Thursdays. Remember you need a Plan to go to prom.
Wednesday

 There will be a workshop today after school in the CCC to get help completing the FAFSA. If you want to get
help with your F.A.F.S.A., come to the CCC after school today.

 Tomorrow is college gear day; Don’t forget to wear your t-shirt or college gear.

o Brian Davis has been accepted to Eastern IL University.
o SaCora Williams has been accepted to Loyola University and Olivet Nazarene University with a
$60,000 Scholarship.
o Preston Mays has been accepted to North Central College, Bowling Green State University with a
$15,000 scholarship offer and to University of Kentucky With a $20,000 scholarship offer.

Thursday

 Juniors many popular colleges will be visiting the CCC. Visit Thornton’s home web page and scroll down past the
pictures to the college visit sign-up section. Here you may sign-up to attend the visit. Don’t forget to get a pass
from Mrs. King to use on the day of the visit. All juniors are welcome to attend.
 If you have on college gear or you college and career ready t-shirt stop by the CCC for a candy treat.

o Pamela Hayes has been accepted to Upper Iowa University.

o Also, Francisco Sepulveda and Jose Romero will both be working full time in the automotive
industry after graduation.

 Seniors you need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid or the FAFSA today. If you have
completed the FAFSA bring a copy of the email from FAFSA to Mrs. King to receive a discount on your
prom ticket.
