SOUTHAMPTON BASKETBALL
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Southampton Basketball would like to publicize an opportunity for eligible (see
Eligibility Information, below) William Tennent High School and Archbishop Wood
High School seniors to apply for a one-time $500 scholarship. The scholarship award
will be based primarily on an essay prepared by the applicant. Academic achievement,
involvement in school activities, letter of recommendation and community service will be
considered, but as secondary factors to each applicant’s essay.

5. Eligibility Information
Applicant must be either a current or past member of Southampton Basketball to be
eligible for the scholarship award. Accordingly, please check one of the categories

6. Essay
In a 500 or less word essay, on a separate piece of paper, please explain in your own
words the benefits of participation in Southampton Basketball and why you believe you
should be awarded a scholarship grant. You may also describe anything of particular
interest about yourself, what you plan to do after you complete your education, or
anything else you believe will assist in the evaluation of your application. Include a letter
of recommendation from a teacher and/or employer who is familiar with your
background.
7. Application Deadline
The completed application, including essay and letter of recommendation (as well as
official letter of acceptance to an accredited college or university, if available at this time)
must be received by your counselor no later than APRIL 10 (NO EXCEPTIONS.)
Applications (and accompanying documentation) will be forwarded by your school to
Southampton Basketball.
