AHWFS GEP/2nd Year and 3rd Year Evidence Based Veterinary Medicine
Plan A : EVBM gets moved from 2nd/GEP into 3rd year for 2012/2013



8 Epidemiology lectures get moved into 3rd Year
8 Experimental design lectures get moved into 3rd year
3 Statistical practicals (~30 students / class) get moved into 3rd Year

This would mean that 3rd Year AHWFS would now consist of (instead of 12 Epidemiology
lectures and 4 Epidemiology Practicals)
 20 Epidemiology lectures
 8 Experimental design lectures
[So 28 lectures in total up from 12]
[However, I do think that the total number of lectures could be perhaps reduced by 1-2 – as will no
longer need to re-visit some material]
 7 Practicals (split equally Epidemiology and Statistics)
[So 7 practicals in total up from 4]
Plan B - EVBM does not get moved from 2nd/GEP into 3rd year for 2012/2013, but timetable (in terms
of lecture and practical numbers) for GEP becomes the same as for 2nd Year







GEP - Statistics Summer school lecture– no longer happens
GEP - Statistics Summer school 90min practical– no longer happens
2nd Year – still get 8 experimental design lectures in Semester 1
2nd Year – get 4 (not 5) Statistics practicals in Semester 1
GEP – now sit in the 8 experimental design lectures in Semester 1
GEP – now get 4 Statistics practicals in Semester 1
GEP/2nd Year – still get 8 Epidemiology lectures in Semester 1
Plan C - EVBM does not get moved from 2nd/GEP into 3rd year for 2012/2013, and timetable (in
terms of lecture and practical numbers) for GEP stay the same
