Pet-A-Care Business Policies 1. Pet-A-Care is a limited liability company which is insured and bonded against negligent liabilities. However, Pet-A-Care will not be responsible for client irresponsibility, acts of nature (wind, snow, rain, hail damage), lack of adequate pet visits and wrongdoings by non Pet-A-Care members (family, friends, and neighbors) who have been given access to the home. Pet-A-Care, to include its contractors, are pet sitters not house keepers, gardeners, or handy persons. We will not engage in non pet care activities such as performing laundry, dish washing, excessive watering of plants & gardens, snow removal, etc. without additional pay. 2. Payment. New clients are to pay at consultation and recurring clients are to leave payment prior to departing for travel. If payment is not left at the house prior to departure, a $20 late fee will be assessed and the client will be responsible for sending payment and late fee prior to returning from travel. If client declines with this payment and late fee method then service will not be provided and other arrangements will have to be made by the client. When clients fail to pay at time of service, Pet-A-Care’s time and fuel costs are being incurred by other clients who have paid and this is unfair. 3. Pet-A-Care Hours: Pet-A-Care accepts phone calls 8:00am – 8:00pm only. Before or after these hours clients are welcome to text or email and will be contacted the following day. 4. Pet Visits. Pet-A-Care performs all pet sitting visits within 30 minute blocks and within the following windows of time: mornings: 7:00am - 9:00am; middays 11:00am - 1:00pm; evenings 4:00pm - 6:00pm; and bedtime 7:00pm – 9:00pm. These windows allow Pet-A-Care employees to maintain a personal life. Requests outside these windows will be at Pet-A-Care’s discretion and if accepted will incur an additional $10 fee per visit. 5. Pet Proofing Homes. Clients are responsible for pet proofing their homes prior to Pet-A-Care beginning service such picking up hazardous items, throw rugs, toys and securing rooms, & indoor/outdoor gates and fences. Clients will be responsible for all damages resulting from their pets. 6. Same day service. Pet-A-Care requests 24-hour notice for all pet sitting requests. All requests less than 24-hours cannot be guaranteed but if Pet-ACare does support, clients will be assessed a $5 additional fee per visit. 7. Overnight Stays. Clients requesting Pet-A-Care overnight service must provide a minimum 30-day notice or will be charged a one-time fee of $45 which is in addition to the $45 per night charge. 8. Dog walks. Dog walks, during the months of October through May, due to winter weather, will be at the discretion of Pet-A-Care. Likewise, this policy applies to extreme summer heat temperatures as well. Clients are responsible for assuring dog collars are fastened tightly and providing durable leashes. 9. Outdoor Receptacles. If clients request assistance with trash, recycle, and/or grass bins, client will be responsible for putting the bins by the curb prior to pickup and Pet-A-Care will be willing to bring them in. There are no exceptions. 10. Plants, Flowers and Gardens. If clients request assistance with watering plants, flowers, and gardens, Pet-A-Care will assist only if request is within reason...ie items must be located in one place and take 5 minutes or less. If not, a $5 charge will be assessed for each the front yard, backyard and inside the house watering. This must be discussed and payment made prior to client departure. 11. Communication: Client is responsible to contact Pet-A-Care for updates on their pets via text, email or phone call. Pet-A-Care employees are consistently on the road and cannot be expected to remember to initiate contact with clients. 12. Key control: If client does not provide Pet-A-Care with a permanent key and the client wants Pet-A-Care to leave their key inside their home after Pet-A-Care’s last visit, then client is responsible for all incurred costs if it is necessary for PetA-Care to reenter the home prior to client returning home. 13. House access: If the means Pet-A-Care is provided to enter the house does not work (key, key pad code or garage door opener), the client will incur the cost for Pet-A-Care to gain entry to care for the client’s pets (example: Client will pay for a locksmith) 14. Pet Visits: If Pet-A-Care is hired for services, due to pet health and safety, there is a minimum requirement of at least one pet visit per day. 15. House Alarms: If a client has a house alarm and it malfunctions at no fault of Pet-A-Care, client will be charged for the time Pet-A-Care commits to resolving the situation. If client has a security password, Pet-A-Care requests the password to prevent a police response. 16. Minimum Pet Visits: Pet-A-Care’s policy is to perform a minimum of one visit per day when client agrees to service. If client determines to want pet-A-Care support in which some days are missed, they will be asked to sign a “waiver of pets liability” letter. *All policies and procedures are subject to change without notice at Pet-ACare’s discretion
