All qualifications will be promoted under the banner of British Swimming. Officials’ qualifications/ training must follow the agreed process (as set out above) to ensure the consistency and quality of courses being delivered to all discipline officials. Home Country/ Regional courses must be organised through the relevant Home Country/ ASA Region in conjunction with the relevant Synchro committee. All expenses must be paid for, and processed, by the Home Country/ ASA Regional office – this includes the Tutor/ Presenter fee, travel expenses and any room hire. Course fees for candidates: a maximum of £15 per person may be charged, or an amount that is proportionate to the cost of running the course. If the Home Country/ Region wishes to pay the fees for the attendees this is at their cost. In addition, the ASA TSSC (on behalf of British Synchronised Swimming) has reviewed the process of course organisation for Synchro and agreed the following: 1. Presenters – a list of qualified Presenters is available from Mary Hooper. 2. National Courses (to be organised centrally by the TSSC) are as follows: a. Referee b. General Judge (leading to National Judge) c. Senior Assessor d. National Scorer e. FINA Rules updates (unless/ until delegated to Regions) f. Contemporary Issues (a generic British Swimming course for all Aquatic disciplines, available online from August 2014) 3. Home Country/ Regional Courses (to be organised and delivered by Home Countries/ ASA Regions but coordinated centrally by the TSSC) are as follows: a. Basic Assessor b. Assessor c. Advanced Assessor d. Basic Judge e. National Scorer (when delegated to Regions) 4. 5. Registered Officials – all officials who qualify via an approved officials’ training course become British Swimming “Registered” officials, and must maintain their annual membership of the British Swimming/ ASA/ SASA via their Club Secretary. British Swimming Officials Licensing Scheme – registered officials who will have the opportunity to officiate at National level events, including: Referee, National Judge, Senior Assessor, National Scorer – are in addition eligible and required to become a Licensed official.
