SCHOOL HOLIDAY DATES and TEACHER DAYS FROM 2015
Following a Local Authority consultation regarding school holiday dates and Teacher days there has been a
change in how Teacher days are to be taken as from September 2015. This has an impact on the term dates
for each school year.
Currently, school term dates show 190 days for children to be in school and a specified number of Teacher
days to be taken. Further teacher days are taken out of school time, usually after school, to a total of three.
As from September 2015 school term dates will show 193 days with two specified Teacher days. The Local
Authority has given schools the responsibility of deciding when to take the remaining three Teacher days so
that the children spend 190 days in school.
For this reason the LASA group of schools, along with the Brockington group of schools, have decided to take
the same Teacher days so that families who have children that attend different schools will have the same
Teacher days.
Below are the agreed Teacher days for the next three academic years.
