MIT Federal Credit Union:
Our Client, MIT Federal Credit Union (“MITFCU” – www.mitfcu.org), was founded in 1940 to
provide financial services to employees at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today,
MITFCU has over $400MM in assets and 30,000 members that now extend beyond the MIT
campus. Management is executing on a well-developed five-year strategic plan with a goal of “1
N 10” (achieving $1BN in assets within ten years). In introducing the Credit Union’s new brand,
“A Higher Degree of Banking,” MITFCU is striving to match its brand with that of MIT –
innovative, creative, and dynamic. The goal is to be part of MIT’s compelling vision and to be
relevant for members on a global basis. Technology is enabling MITFCU to expand outside the
core Cambridge community. In 2011, the MIT Alumni Association (125,000 members) endorsed
them as its financial institution of choice; thereby opening up significant growth avenues.
Kiradjieff & Goode’s Involvement:
1) In the Spring of 2013, K&G was retained to recruit their new Vice President of
Marketing. After an extensive search process, a talented marketing professional, Scott
Hanna, was selected.
2) Later in 2013, we were again retained to recruit MITFCU’s new Chief Financial Officer.
A talented professional, Cindy Hudson, was selected and is now a key member of the
management team responsible for the oversight of all accounting, finance, investments,
treasury, asset liability management, and vendor risk management.
3) In 2015, MITFCU again retained us to recruit a new SVP – Member and Retail Services.
Kim Mandola has joined the organization and has begun to explore creative retail strategies
to create a more robust sales culture, and implement qualitative and quantitative
performance measures to ensure strong market penetration.
