Since the foundation of our business is a solid understanding of the subsurface geology,
geologists are critical members of our reservoir management teams. Their primary
objective is to identify additional development and exploration opportunities, and improve
recovery from existing productive reservoirs. Geologists apply their skills and use state of
the art tools to map and describe reservoirs, participate in volumetric and reserves
estimations, and provide geoscience support to a fast-paced drilling and development
program.

Masters degree in geology
Minimum of 7 years experience in petroleum exploration and/or developmental
geology.
Proficient in all aspects of stratigraphic correlation, fault picking, structural
interpretation, and geologic mapping.
Proficient in estimating in-place hydrocarbon volumes.
Proficient in OpenWorks and Petrel, or demonstrated proficiency in other
industry standard geologic interpretation software.
Able to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team to plan and execute
development, reservoir characterization, and surveillance programs.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Desired Qualifications:

Experience or familiarity with California geology.

Proficiency in 3D geologic modeling.

Proficient in reservoir description/core data analysis.

Reservoir Engineers are critical members of a multi-disciplined team that add value to the
assets through capital reinvestment and application of solid reservoir management skills.
Working in concert with integrated team of geoscientists, production/facility engineers, and
field operations to create/identify, develop, and execute profitable capital projects which
increase profitability/reserves. In addition to the creation of capital projects, the candidate
will also be required to identify and economically justify conformance, deepening, new pay,
and workover projects. Responsibilities also include reservoir management through frequent
multidiscipline reviews of wells/patterns, production forecasting for the annual
budget/planning process, and reserve determination.
Job Requirements
 BS degree in engineering
 7+ years of reservoir engineering experience including capital project
development and reserve determination
 5+ years of production engineering including completions/ workover preparation
and evaluations for injectors and producers
 Demonstrates results in improving the profitability of a field using reservoir
analysis/management techniques
 Demonstrates the ability to use petroleum engineering to solve problems and
identify enhancement opportunities
 Demonstrates the ability to create, design, implement, and post appraise cost
effective and economically successful workover and drilling/completion
programs
 Ability to interact and work effectively with cross-functional teams and working
interest partners
 Proficiency in reservoir engineering and pattern management practices
including, but not limited to, material balance, injection optimization,
conformance improvement, flood pattern surveillance, and performance
forecasting
 Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with 80%
of the data/information available
 Understanding of oil and gas finance in relation to reserves and economics
 Proficiency in all required technical and economic software packages – OSI PI,
DSS, PEEP, VIP or Eclipse, Petrel, MS Office - Access
Desired Qualifications
 Waterflood/and or Steamflood grass roots development
 5+ years of economic analysis preferably with PEEP
 MBA or Masters in PE
