GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
1. Must be a senior.
2. Must be continuing your education.
3. Must have participated in two sports in your senior year OR one sport for four years of
high school.
4. Your parent or guardian must have been a member of the Algonac Sports Boosters for
two (2) years, and have worked at two (2) events per year.
5. Applications must be turned in by the due date listed on the counseling website.
6. Your application must be accompanied with an essay on the topic “How being an athlete
at Algonac High School helped me to become a better member of society”. The essay
should be no longer than one typed page.
7. Applicants must print and have coaches fill out a “coach evaluation form”. Forms must
be returned by each coach in a sealed envelope to the office, and they will then be
placed in the sports boosters’ mailbox. The criteria to be considered for the evaluation
is: team spirit, conduct/cooperation, good attendance and sportsmanship.
8. Final decisions on scholarships will be made by a committee made up of Algonac Sports
Boosters members. Committee members cannot have a senior in high school or be
related to a senior. No one serving on the committee shall be a coach.
9. Scholarship checks will be written to both the student and school upon verification of
enrollment.
