Reactor Handout April 18th, 2013 1. Receive notification that you have a health case: Starting Monday, 4/22/13 Rodent Health notifications will change. 2. A link will take you to the case on the within the PI Portal. https://portal.dlam2.ucla.edu/VeterinaryServices/REACTORPIPortal The link will lead directly to the specific Case after a prompt to sign in with your UCLA Log On. PI and Lab staff will continue to get the full Case Response letter as an attachment as well in the e-mail until further notice. ALL replies to Health Cases must be done via the PI Portal as we will no longer be monitoring the Rodent Health inbox for health case responses. Reply in comment section what your plans are After typing response, hit the green “reply” box to save the comment. DLAM Rodent Health staff will receive notification that the case has been replied to. Depending on where the animal is located, DLAM staff or lab staff will go to the animal room and take care of the rodent. 4. Expectations of the Lab a. Respond to your health notification within the given deadline: b. Options: Treatment, euthanasia, or active communication with DLAM Rodent Services for alternatives within the given deadline. PI and Lab Manager have the ability to add or remove contacts. b. A 9 digit UCLA UID is required to add a new contact to a lab. c. Must have previously signed into the DLAM web portal. d. Mark member as “LM” if they need to receive the notification by default and / or they will be maintaining the contact list. Select Add Contact to add lab contact to list. A University ID is required in order to be added as a lab contact Click a name link to edit or delete a contact. Be sure to click Save button after any changes! Only a Lab Contacts’ Work e-mail address or Phone Number can be edited! 6. What Rodent Health Services sees when a case is sent out to the lab: DLAM Rodent Health Services: dlamrhs@mednet.ucla.edu Clinic Supervisor: Carmen Volpe (310)825-0633 Example: Gene Rukavina will not receive automatically (unchecked lab contact) He will be selected to receive the email if he is listed as the contact on the cage card.
