* Nominators can submit more than one nomination for an award.
* Only nominations or applications from HRL employees (professional or students) will be accepted.

*Please review all award descriptions and nomination materials included below and decide which
awards to submit a nomination for.
* Nominations for the Housing and Residence Life Awards will be accepted through the Student
Achievement Awards Nomination/Application Form on OrgSync from February 13- March 13.
* Award recipients will be recognized at the Student Achievement Awards program on April 15.
Descriptions of awards and information needed to submit a nomination/application are included below.

2015 Housing and Residence Life Awards
Logan Mills Community Development Award (awarded to one RA/GVA)
This award is given to the Resident Assistant who has contributed the most to the community development
on his or her floor, and in their building as a whole. This prestigious award was named in memory of 2011
winner, Logan Mills, a member of the 2010-2011 University Suites staff.
Be prepared for the nomination process.

the nominee that will be asked in the nomination/application form:
 Why does this RA/GVA deserve this award?
 What has the RA/GVA contributed to building community on his/her floor, their hall, or GV house?
RA of the Year (awarded one RA)
This award recognizes the Resident Assistant who has contributed the most overall to the RA position. The RA
of the Year is the resident assistant who has embodied the true essence of an amazing RA in every sense of the
word and is a consistent performer in all RA duties.

 Why does this RA deserve this award?
 How has this person gone above and beyond the call of RA duty?
Greek Village Aide of the Year (awarded to one GVA)
This award recognizes the Greek Village aide who has embodied the true essence of an amazing village aide
in every sense of the word and is a consistent performer in all village aide duties.

 Why does this GVA deserve this award?
 How has this person gone above and beyond the call of GVA duty?
Student Assistant of the Year (awarded to one SA)
This awards recognizes the Department of Housing and Residence Life student assistant who is always willing to
help, takes initiatives with projects and who has exhibited outstanding leadership qualities.

 Why does this SA deserve this award?
 How has this person gone above and beyond the call of SA duty?
Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year Award (awarded to one GA)
This award is given to the Graduate Assistant who has contributed the most overall to the Department of
Housing and Residence Life program. This GA is a leader among their peers and has proven to be a consistent
performer in all of their academic and work responsibilities.

 What has this person done to support the staff he/she supervises and the residents of his/her

2015 Housing and Residence Life Awards
HRL Full-time Staff Member of the Year (awarded to one full-time staff member)
This award is given to the full time staff member who has exhibited excellent leadership and guidance to the HRL
office staff, residential staff and students.

 Why does this person deserve the Full-time Staff Member of the Year Award?
 What has this person done to support the staff he/she supervises and the residential staff and
students at UWG?
UWG Spotlight Award (awarded to one person or department)
This awards is given to the department or person outside of HRL who has gone above and beyond to assist
our department.

Program of the Year (awarded to one program)
This winning program exemplifies the focus on personal and community growth within our residence halls.
This program works to make living on campus a positive and memorable experience.

This staff team is a shining example of the Department of Housing and Residence Life's values of Lead,
