GPCON Pre-Conference Workshop-1
Pre-conference workshop-1 was on “Ophthalmology and ENT”, convener were Dr. Sanjay Patil and Dr.
Rupa Agarwal at K.H. Sancheti Hall, IMA House. GPCON Org. Sec. Dr. Padma Iyer welcomed all and
started the session. First Lecture was on “Red Eye and Ocular infection by Dr. Tejawini Walimbe chaired
by Dr. Hemant Todkar and Dr. Manasi Pawar. Second lecture was on “Eye Care after 40 yrs. Of Age”, by
Dr. Sanjay Patil, chaired by Dr. Mohan Joshi and Dr. Rajkumar Shah. Third lecture was on “Eye
Donation” by Dr. Sushil Muthiyan chaired by Keshav Gujrathi and Dr. Kirti Bhati.
Official Inauguration of Pre-conference by traditional lamp lighting by all GPCON office bearers.
Fourth lecture was on “Pediatric Eye Care and Childhood Eye Emergencies” by Dr. Parikshit Gogate
Chaired by Dr. Nitin Nimbane and Dr. Kirti Bhosale. Firth lecture on “Ocular Troma” by Dr. Ramesh
Murthi, chaired by Dr. Vasundhara Mane. Sixth Lecture on “Misuse of Local Steroids Eyedrops by Family
Physician” by Dr. Amrita Kapoor, chaired by Dr. Prashant Kulkarni. Last lecture was on “Snooring” by Dr.
Seemab Shaikh, chaired by Dr. Pramod Borghare. Program ended with Panel Discussion. This program
was anchored by Dr. Sanjay Patil and Dr. Rupa Agarwal. GPCON Org. Sec. Dr. Santosh Gosavi presented
vote of thanks. Housefull attendance for preconference-1 encouraged GPCON organizing committee.

Doctor’s Health Forum
First time under Doctor’s Health Forum, Health Checkup was organized on Sunday Morning in GPA
Office and Kelkar Hall. Delegated arrived at 7.30 a.m with fasting. Samarth Lab collected samples for
Heamogram, BSL fasting, Lipid Profil and Creat. 110 delegated done their health checkup. After this, in
Kelkar Hall Dr. Vijay Ramanan Spoke on “Anamia” and Dr. Dhanajay Kelkar spoke on “Fitness”. Dr.
Madhuri Joglekar presented “Ishstavan” and officially inaugurated Doctors Health Forum activity by
traditional lamp lighting. This session was attended by almost 150 delegated. This program was
sponsored by Emcure Pharma. Vote of thanks presented by Dr. Pravin Darak.

Khenat at K.H. Sancheti Hall, IMA House. GPCON Org. Sec. Dr. Santosh Gosavi welcomed all and started
the session. First Lecture was on “Clinical and Lab evaluation in Rheumatology” by Dr. Aniruddha Tembe
chaired by Dr.Shubhangi Katkar and Dr. Shrirang Bari . It was followed by workshop on “Musculoskeletal
Examination” by Dr. Aniruddha Tembe and Dr. Sunil Singh. Second lecture was on “Role of radiology in
Rheumatology (focus on plain X rays)”, by Dr. Santosh Konde, chaired by Dr. Rashmi Khairnar and
Dr.Satish Tadwalkar.

Third lecture was on “Recent Advances in RA” by Dr. Sunil Singh chaired by Dr. Vaishali Lodha and Dr.

Fourth lecture was on “Hyperuricemia and Gout” by Dr. Aniruddha Tembe Chaired by Dr. Raju Varyani .
Firth lecture on “Ocular Manifestations of Rheumatic Diseases” by Dr.Swapnil Bhalerao, chaired by
Dr. Sunil Honrao . Program ended with Quiz conducted by Dr. Aniruddha Tembe. This program was
anchored by Dr. Pravin Darak and Dr. Narendra Khenat. GPCON Org. Sec. Dr. Santosh Gosavi presented
vote of thanks. Housefull attendance i.e. 235 delegates for preconference-2 encouraged GPCON
organizing committee.

GPCON-2014 Day 1
24th GPCON organized in Yashwantrao Chavhan Natyagruha Kothrud on Saturday 13th Dec and Sunday
14th Dec 2014. Dr. Keshav Gujarathi and Dr. Rajkumar Shah took care of registrations of delegates.
There were 45 pharma and non pharma companies participated in scientific exhibition area. This activity
very well coordinated by Sr. Sanjay Wagh and Dr. Nitin Zankar. Dr. P.S.Karmarkar, Director, Shashwat
Gropu of Hospitals, inaugurated Scientific Exhibition Area. GPCON traditionally started with Ganapati
Pujan. GPCON Org. Sec. Dr. Padma Iyer welcome all and handover to the Day Incharge Dr. Sandip Butala.
Dr. Sandip Butala gave opening remark and handover charge to session incharge Dr. Deepa Wagh. Day 1
workshop conducted on “Oncology” by Dr. Minish Jain, chaired by Dr. Rajendra Deshmukh. After that
Souvenir released by GPCON Office Beares and Souvenir Committee Dr. Raju Varyani and His team. first
lecture on “Is Spine Surgery Safe?” by Dr. Ashutosh Subnis and Dr. Kashmira Subnis, chaired by Dr.
Sanjay Patil and Dr. Vaishali Nimbane. Second Lecture on “Patient in ICU: What is My Role?” by Dr.
Prachi Sathe, chaired by Dr. Rajashree Kakade and Dr. Rajendra Bhosale. Third Lecture on “Pathways to
Care in Mental Health” by Dr. Ashutosh Chouhan chaired by Dr. Jagdish Galinde ,Dr. Mahesh Wayal,
Amol Rajhans. Fouth Lecture on “Specialties in General Practice” by Dr. Prakash Mahajan chaired by Dr.
B.N Aher,Dr. Mrs. Dube Patil, Dr. Dipali Bhujbal. Fifth Lecture on “Rational use of Antibiotics:
Guidelines”, by Dr. Sanjay Salunkhe, chaired by Dr. Dipali Mule and Dr. Suhas Nene. Sixth Lecture on
“Proteinurea”, by Dr. Atul Sajgure chaired by Dr. Milind Khedkar and Dr. Ravindra Sonar. Seventh
Lecture on “Anamia- Newer Approach” by Vijay Ramanan chaired by Dr. Vijay Jagtap and Dr. Santosh
Khedekar. Last lecture before lunch on “Non coronary Intervention in Cardiology”, by Dr. Rahul Patil
chaired by Dr. Vasant Chandan and Dr. Vishwajit Chavhan. After lunch session incharge Dr. Prasad
Ambikar handover to convener of Free Scientic Paper Dr. Pranita Ashok. Dr. Rajkumar Shah, Dr. Keshav
Gujarathi and Dr. Pranita Ashok presented their free papers. After this Quiz was conducted by Quiz
master Dr. Suhas Nene , Dr. Pravin Darak and Dr. Rupa Agarwal. Paticipants were Dr. Suryakant Mane
and Dr. Narendra Khenat, Dr. Sachin Wani and Suresh Dhande, Dr. Anil Bhandwalkar and Dr. Shrirang
Bari. Next lecture on “Diabetic and Nutrition” by Dr. Madan Phadnis, chaired by Dr. Sham Damale, Dr.
Vijay Shah and Dr. Yunus Inamdar. Next lecture on “Multi disciplinary Approach on Bypassing the
Bypass” by Dr. Rajesh Badane, Dr. Vinod Marathe and Dr. Shailesh Deshpande, conducted by Dr. Nitin
Nimabane. Next lecture on “Beyond Viagra” by Dr. Dipak Jumani chaired by N.V.Kulkarni and Dr. Avinash
Bhondwe. Last lecture on day 1 on “Diabetic Foot” by Dr. Manisha Deshmukh chaired by Dr. Santosh
Kale and Dr. Suhas Divakar. After this felicitation of Day incharge Dr. Sandip Butala, Session incharges
Dr. Deepa Wagh and Dr. Prasad Ambikar and Stage Incharge Dr. Dharmendra Shah, Dr. Pankaj Baldawa
and Dr. Niranjan Desai by GPCON Org. Chairman. Day 1 concluded by “Lucky Draw”. Vote of thanks

Early in the morning 7.30 a.m.near Karve Statue, GPCON Priyadarshani Group gathered for Rally. Rally
on the topic of “Save Girl Child” started from Karve Statue to Yashwantrao Chavhan Natya Gruha. More
than 100 delegates participated with Banners, Poster and announcements.
GPCON Org. Sec.Dr. Santosh Gosavi welcome all and handover to the Day Incharge Dr. Sachin Wani. Dr.
Sachin Wani gave opening remark and handover charge to session incharge Dr. Rupa Agarwal. Day 2
workshop conducted on “Interactive Session on ECG” by Dr. Madhusudan Asawa, participated by Dr.
S.Z.Anwar,Dr. Jayant Navrange and Dr. Anil Bhandwalkar. First lecture on “Acute Coronary Syndrome”
by Dr. Dr. Dnyanesh Gaware, chaired by Dr. Faruqui, Dr. Nilesh Mali and Dr. Kailash Parakh. Second
Lecture on “Bariatic Surgery Myths and Facts” by Dr. Jayashree Todkar, chaired by Dr. Shilpa Joshi and
Dr. Kalpana Awari. Third Lecture on “GPs: Real HeroBehind Head Neck Surgery” by Dr. Mrinal Supriya
chaired by Dr. Pradip Khinvasara and Dr. Viraj Sonawane. Fouth Lecture on “Management of Chest Pain”
by Dr. Purvez Grant chaired by DrArun Halbe and Dr. Narendra Khenat.
Inauguration Function - Org. Sec. Dr. Santosh Gosavi requested all dignitaries on stage. GPCON
Inaugurated traditionally by lamp lighting. Dr. Anjali Dixit and her team presented “Dhanwantari
Stawan” and the Prayer. Dr. Santosh Gosavi and Dr. Padma Iyer presented welcome Speech. Then
felicitation of Chief Guest Dr. Vishwanath Karad, Guest of Honor Dr. Nandkumar Laud and Guest of
Honor Mr. Mukund Ranade by GPCON Org. Chairmans. GPCON Org. Chairman Dr. Vilas Takane and Dr.
Bharati Dhore Patil presented their speech. After this Dr. Sunil Paigude discussed criteria for Lifetime
achievement award and declare the awardee Dr. Prasad Ambikar. Dr. Praksh Atre introduced awardee.
Dr. N.V. Kulkarni read Manpatra. After felicitation awardee Dr. Dr. Prasad Ambikar presented his
acceptance speech.
Dr. Sunil Paigude introduced Late Dr. Dilip Ghule Appreciation Award. Mr. Sopanrao Ghule and Dr. Smita
Ghule falicitated the awardees Dr. Vilas Takane and Dr. Bharati Dhore Patil. After this IMA president Dr.
Arun Halbe presented his speech. The Guest of Honor Dr. Nandkumar Laud and Mr. Mukund Ranade
presented their speech. Followed by Chief Guest Dr. Vishwanth Karad enlighten audience with his
Speech.
After lunch Session incharge Dr. Nitin Nimbane handover to chairperson Dr. Prakash Mahajan and Dr.
Sunil Paigude for the lecture on “Post Revascularisation :care Continues” by Dr. Shirish Hiremath. Next
lecture on “Management of Thyroid Disorder : Family Physician’s Perspective” by Dr. Shashank Joshi,
chaired by Dr. Arati Nimkar and Dr. Vaishali Ingale. Third lecture on “Diabesity” by Dr. Shashank Shah
chaired by Dr. Hanumant Pingale and Dr. Rajesh Dalavi. Fourth Lecture on “Fever with rash in Pediatric”
by Dr. Sanjay Mankar, chaired by Dr. Nandkishore Mantri and Dr. B.L.Deshmukh. It was followed by
Debate on “Vaidyakiya Vyavasayat Nivrutti Nasavi?” Paricipant were in for side, Dr. Prafullata Suru, Dr.
Mohan Joshi and Dr. Avinash Bhondwe and in against side, Dr. Mandar Paranjape, Dr. Sunil Paigude and
Dr. Sadanand Borse. It was well conducted by Dr. Prakash Marathe. After this felicitation of Day
incharge Dr. Sachin Wani, Session incharges Dr. Rupa Agarwal and Dr. Sachin Nimbani and Stage

Walking Activity
In this delight winter season, in the cool evening GPA doctors gathered in Sarasbaug for walking. After a
pleasant walk they visited Harjeevan Hospital. Dr. Shirish Patwardhan conducted a lecture on “Fitness” .
It was followed by dinner. 60 doctors participated in this activity.

Trekking
In this pleasant winter season, GPA Nisarg Braman Mandal arranged a trek in Historical places- Shivneri
and Lenyadri. 40 doctors with families participated in this trek. Dr. Sanjay Wagh arranged breakfast and
Lunch for participants. Dr. Vivek Billempelly arranged this trek very smoothly. Everyone enjoyed this last
event of this calendar year.
