PRESS RELEASE 13.07.2015 Champs sur Yonne NICOLAS makes a convincing case through impressive equipment demonstration with cost-effective and robust machinery for landscape conservation NICOLAS Industrie from the Burgundy region in France is known around the world as being part of the TII Group, the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles. However, NICOLAS also produces equipment for tractors which has been successfully used over many decades in the agricultural and forestry sectors as well as municipalities for landscape conservation. The increasing presence of NICOLAS at European trade fairs has led to numerous enquiries and requests, also from the media. Due to the great interest, NICOLAS invited the trade press to a day of demonstrations featuring mowing, mulching and shredding equipment on 18.06.2015. The NICOLAS models NATURA and EVORA were presented along with the FAS articulated mower and A 530/A540 shredding machine. In order to be able to demonstrate the strengths and benefits of the equipment in practical situations, an uneven sloping area complete with dense vegetation was chosen as a test site. The vegetation not only featured tall grass but also tightly-knit foliage consisting of climbers and creepers. In addition, the upper sloping area was overgrown with numerous shrubs and trees with branch diameters between 0.5 and 25 cm. Altogether, typical situations that confront workers in everyday municipal, agricultural or forestry operations. An impressive lineup: NATURA, EVORA, embankment mower and shredders from NICOLAS before the start of the demonstration. 1/4 First up was the FAS articulated mower complete with pruning hammers. This NICOLAS special articulated mower is suitable for use on tractors from 50 to 90 hp. They allow the efficient cutting of grasses, shrubs and small trees. If the boom hits an obstacle during operations, a safety mechanism ensures that the mower section is retracted and then is automatically returned to its original position. A product brochure with detailed information on the mowing equipment from NICOLAS is available in the appendix to this press release. The NICOLAS FAS articulated mower with pruning hammers roll in use on a sloped embankment with dense vegetation. This was followed by an EVORA offsetting shredder which was used to cut back the upper part of the bank slope which featured an impenetrable undergrowth consisting of intertwined creepers. The EVORA offsetting shredder is equipped with a curved front extension arm which provides the operator with an excellent view of the mulching head, thus significantly enhancing working conditions. The extension arm is fitted with an automatic breakaway device. A product brochure with detailed information on the EVORA offsetting shredder is available in the appendix to this press release. All circular saws in the NICOLAS range of accessories can be combined with all machinery options. The extension arm of the Natura impressively proved its stability when, after being cut off, a 25 cm thick branch fell directly on the arm. Due to the sensitive control system of the extension arm, the driver could safely and easily place the branch on the ground. A product brochure with detailed information on the NATURA offsetting shredder is available in the appendix to this press release. A NICOLAS A540 shredding machine was on hand to ensure that the clippings and other foliage could be correctly shredded. Due to the height-adjustable chain support, the integrated chain drive guarantees safe driving on steep slopes. Shredders from NICOLAS are available with an autonomous drive as well as universal joint shaft-driven attachments for tractors. A product brochure with detailed information on NICOLAS shredders is available in the appendix to this press release. Remains unfazed also when dealing with thick branches: the NICOLAS A540 shredder complete with crawler chassis. 3/4 NICOLAS equipment can be ordered directly from company headquarters in Champs sur Yonne or, outside of France, through a German-speaking representative of TII Sales, the joint sales company of SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS and KAMAG.
