She was the first female spine surgeon to be selected for the prestigious ABC fellowship in 2000. This honor is bestowed biennially on the top 6 orthopedic surgeons in the English speaking world. She relocated to New Orleans in 2001 and joined the University of Colorado Denver in 2006.
