MATERIALS
The M-ERA.NET joint Call 2013 is now open!
M-ERA.NET is a European network of public funding organizations and funding programs on
materials science and engineering, for the benefit of the European industry and society.
Funding will be offered to innovative projects focusing on:
•Integrated Computational Materials Engineering
•Interfaces, Surfaces and Coatings
•Composite Technology
•Materials for Health-*New Topic introduced in this call.
•Materials for Sustainable and Affordable Low Carbon Energy Technologies
Funding is available for industry (with optional sub-contracting of academic research entities),
according to rules of OCS Fund, the Ministry of Economy www.moital.gov.il/madan.htm

ERA-NET TRANSPORT III "Future Travelling" Flagship Call Initiative 2013
Projects can address aspects of both or either one of the research questions in the following
domains:

Future Vehicle Technologies - Alternative propulsion systems (technology oriented
research domain)

Traveler of the Future – Information and services for users (social,
organizational and technological research domain)

Cluster EURIPIDES (Eureka Initiative for Packing and Integration of µDevices & Smart Systems)
EURIPIDES is the EUREKA R&D program dedicated to interconnection, packaging,
miniaturization of electronic systems or devices, silicon sensors and integration of all
electronic systems.
EURIPIDES launches two calls per year, in a two-step approach.

AVIATION
Clean Sky Call 15 is now open
Clean Sky, a Public Private Partnership between the European Commission and the
Aeronautical Industry, was set up to bring significant step changes regarding the
environmental impact of aviation. The Clean Sky Calls are Easy to apply and compete. A
consortium is not a "must", one entity can apply alone.

SPACE
Space R&D in Germany
Nili Mandelblit and Mika Mor from ISERD participated (via COSMOS+, the Space European
National Contact point Network) in a training workshop concerning Space R&D in Germany, on
11-12 June 2013. The training included a visit to the DLR Space Research Centers in Cologne
and Bonn, as well as at the Fraunhofer Research institute and the ESA astronaut training
center. The visit included labs and projects presentations in space transportation, materials,
health and key technologies as well as a visit to the Fraunhofer Radar Space Tracking station.
In addition meetings were held with space key players in Germany: ASTRIUM, OHB, the
German Space SME-Union, and the Max-Planck Research Institute.
