Enchanting Bridges—Yang Ming Photo Contest on the World's Classic Bridges I. Objective A bridge is a connector between two areas as well as an expression of human ingenuity and culture. In earlier times, bridges helped people communicate across bodies of water, rivers and valleys. As construction technology has improved, bridges have not only helped make transportation more economical, but also come to symbolize engineering skill and cultural development. The Yang Ming Cultural Foundation holds its photo contest on the world’s classic bridges to spread awareness of their fascinating history and unique beauty. II.
