Gossop, Michael. "Attendance at Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings,
Frequency of Attendance and Substance Use Outcomes after Residential Treatment for
Drug Dependence: A 5-year Follow-up Study." Academic Search Complete. EBSCO,
Jan. 2008. Web. Mar. 2013. This study investigates the relationship between frequency of
attendance at Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous (NA/AA) meetings and
substance use outcomes after residential treatment of drug dependence. Reduced chances
of relapse were found in those who attend meetings. This relates to my research by
proving why members stress the importance of attendance while making sense of the
phrase “keep coming back. It works if you work it”.

For all online scholarly journals, provide the author(s) name(s), the name of the article in quotation
marks, the title of the publication in italics, all volume and issue numbers, and the year of publication.
Article in an Online-only Scholarly Journal
MLA requires a page range for articles that appear in Scholarly Journals. If the journal you are citing
appears exclusively in an online format (i.e. there is no corresponding print publication) that does not
make use of page numbers, use the abbreviation n. pag. to denote that there is no pagination for the
publication.

Apr. 2013.The Journal of Clinical Nursing is comparing the quality of elderly care between
home based car and nursing home care. The argument that is being proposed is that
nursing home care is better due to the professional skills that the staff has to offer. They
also argue that nursing homes have a more proficient staff that interacts through activities
with the patients. Throughout my research this will help me understand why so many
people are more likely to attend nursing homes rather than hiring at home based care.

David Barton and Mary Hamilton , D. B. M. H. (1998). Literacy practices. Ethnographic
Inquireies In Writing , 21-31. This article has the perfect definition of what literacy is. This essay
narrows the term down into works that are easily understood. The writer puts these terms
separate from the essay in order for the term to be found easily. This relates to my research
because it defines the terms that I will be using in my paper. This term will be used to make the
reader understand the terms that I am using better.

Publications, 2012. Print. Wessels and Moore’s purpose for this book is to help guide future
drummers in their career, by demonstrating step by step techniques, lessons, and styles. This
book connects to my research, in the aspect that every percussionist was a drummer, before they
became percussionist. This book analyzes every part of a drum set and drum stick, just as I am
analyzing the percussion group and each individual.

“al” in “et al.” Also note that there is never a period after the “et” in “et al.”).

Reading the article “Ethnographic Research Ethics and Amish Values” Tabetha Adkins
explained that her concern in researching this project was to be able approach her site “in
a way that was responsible, ethical, and reflexive.” She wanted to make sure that the
Amish knew she wasn’t there to judge their education, but to be able to understand their
literacy practices. I will tie this method into my own studies to the Environmental
Awareness Society; I will have the members understand that I am not there to call them
“Tree Huggers” or any other names that I am there to understand them and their purpose.

include a URL because MLA no longer requires a URL to be included.)
