this course fulfills the need for a course dealing with Italian literature. It is important to understand Italian literary traditions
in comparison with world literature. These tasks are beyond the scope of the language course work and must be carried
out through a course offered in English. This course is unique insofar as it analyzes Italian literature from multiple
perspectives, dealing with gender issues, the differences between northern and southern Italy, and the social and political
implications of literary movements.

academic units required to prepare a successfully competitive event on the local, regional, state, and national level.
Combining both SPCH 005A and SPCH 005B into SPCH 005 as a 3-unit course with 1 TBA Lab will align the workload to
match the units.
2. This course should be a 3-unit course to reflect the CSU forensics programs, specifically CSU Fullerton’s program.
They offer 3 units. Chapman University and CSU Long Beach offers 1-3 units for their forensics courses.
3. Other nationally competitive programs such as Mt. San Antonio College, Orange Coast College, Moorpark, El Camino,
Irvine Valley College, and Southern Illinois College (just to name a few) offer forensics as a 3-unit course.
