Consumer Education via Vintage Tech Vintage Tech provides a consumer education program and Microsoft has a link to Vintage Tech’s website and phone number on their website. This program stresses the importance of not landfilling electronic waste, while informing the residents the most convenient way to recycle. The Vintage Tech website, www.vintagetechrecyclers.com, has a tab, which lists sponsored drop off locations and collection event information. Drop off location information includes collection source, address, phone number and time of operation. Collection event information includes date, time and address. In addition to information on the web, residents will have the option to call 866-664-5212 to speak with a customer service representative. Each customer service representative will be able to provide information regarding the closest drop off location according to zip code, upcoming events and mail back instructions. Consumer Education via Microsoft You can find information about how to recycle our products at http://www.microsoft.com/environment/our-commitment/hardware-compliance.aspx. There is a link on the “Recycle Your Hardware” page to information about how to erase data from PCs, Xbox consoles, and Windows Phones. The email address weee@microsoft.com has been in all of our product manuals since 2005. We have added an additional address eRecycle@microsoft.com because many people outside of Europe were unfamiliar with the WEEE acronym. Both emails go directly to the people who manage our recycling programs worldwide. We can also be reached by phone: 866-217-7329. Lastly, we also routinely utilize social media and blogging to share our green initiatives, including recycling.
