India to demonstrate its qualities in EMO India will have a very active presence in EMO-Hannover 2011, demonstrating as a profitable and reliable long-term partner, with capacity for innovations & value-additions in terms of design and manufacturing productivity, backed by ethical commercial practices. Author: Shekhar Jitkar, Efficient Manufacturing, India shekhar.jitkar@publish-industry.net Being present at EMO is an absolute must for all manufacturers of production technology aiming to serve customers on the international market and to demonstrate their competence, efficiency and capacity to them. From 19 to 24 September 2011, international manufacturers of production technology will be presenting "More than machine tools" at the EMO-Hannover in Germany. The show covers the entire spectrum of modern metalworking technology - the latest machines and efficient technical solutions, product-related services, sustainability in manufacturing and much more. At this time when the economic conditions have again become uncertain, being competitive is a must for every manufacturer today. In this context, each and every innovation that contributes to increased manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness is more than welcome. That’s where Indian machine tool industry has built its strengths & capabilities which offers a good value proposition for the end-users – a right mix of technology, performance and value. The same will be showcased at EMO-Hannover this year in the form of a display of innovative products and technologies. India has planned to make its enthusiastic and dynamic presence in the event, thanks to the focused efforts from IMTMA (Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association). About 24 companies from India would be participating in EMO 2011, displaying their capabilities in terms of efficient manufacturing technology, comprehensive engineering skills, supported by speedy service in order to master the effects of the crisis quickly and to be competitive on the global market. At the same time, a very well-marketed presence of India at the show should surely generate great opportunities not only for the Indian machine tool industry but also for the end-users and distributors/agents from all over the world. India will offer visitors the perfect opportunity to establish long-term business contacts, experience technology breakthroughs, pave the way for cooperation agreements, and tap the growing business potential. The displays include both entry-level and highend machines, turning centers, machining centers, grinding machines, tool turrets and automatic tool changers, cutting tools and a host of machine tool accessories. Focus - India Indian products and technologies have been getting a well-deserved recognition in the global markets since the last few years. Exports from India are increasing; leading the way are custom-engineered products, unlike China and Taiwan which are basically known for low-value standard products. Also, the feedback shows that communication with Indian companies is much easier and convenient as compared to other Asian countries. That’s why probably Indian companies are preferred nowadays by foreign multinationals for business partnerships. So, overall, the exhibitors from India are quite optimistic about the response for their displays from EMO this year. All of them are looking forward to meet end-users from various industrial sectors and distributors/agents from all over the world.
