Call for posters Joint Action Conference on “Planning & Educating Health Workforce without borders” 18th & 19th February 2016, Varna, Bulgaria Joint Action Health Workforce Planning and Forecasting is organizing the European conference “Planning & Educating Health Workforce without borders”. The conference will take place in Varna, Bulgaria on 18th & 19th February 2016. The prime goal is to create a platform for networking and dialogue respecting the conference content focus. The conferce will tackle the mobility of health workforce, the prospects of changing population and demography as well as educational aspect in health technology assessment processes. During the conference we offer the opportunity to students (in Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs) to present their final scientific study work or thesis on a topic linked to the conference themes. With regards to the above mentioned activity, we are happy to invite your university to take part to the call for posters. The posters preparation and finalization should fit in the following themes that are in accordance with overall conference key topics: the challenge of mobility for health professionals; the effect of a changing demography on health workforce needs; the education of health professionals for the future. The posters will be at the display during the whole conference happening. At the coffee breaks the delegates will have an opportunity to see the posters and discuss with the poster competition representatives. The poster will bring extra added value to the overall theme topic of the conference. During the conference we want to discuss topics similar to: Could we move easily and swiftly towards a European monitoring of health workforce mobility information ? Is an action at European level possible or would a bilateral cooperation be applicable ? Is education abroad a business, an opportunity, a need, a real brain drain or all this together ? What are the main consequences of population ageing on health workforce and on the growing imbalances ? Do we have other options than producing more health professionals ? Can we further finance our health systems without changing their organization and the roles of health workers ? For participation at the poster session of the JA conference it is required to fill in our attached application form and to send it until 30th of October 2015 to: posters.JAconference@gmail.com. You will receive a confirmation that your poster has been accepted for participation until 30 th of November 2015. Note that any application received after this deadline will not be accepted. Call for posters No participation fee is charged for the poster session. The travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the participants. The accepted and presented posters will be published on the website of JA for Health Workforce Planning and Forecasting and on the website of the Medical University – Varna and circulated among all the participants. All presented posters will be recommended to be published in the scientific journals of Medical University – Varna (Scripta Scientifica Salutis Publicae, Health Economics and Management, Varna Medical Forum). All participants of the poster session will receive certificate of attendance. We believe that this activity will give you an extraordinary opportunity for networking and sharing knowledge in the field of health workforce mobility and beyond. The event will provide a platform to meet interesting speakers and conference participants from all accros EU member states as well as outside of Europe.
