مجموعه سمینارهای مهندسی الکترومغناطیس و اپتیک Electromagnetics and Optics Seminar Monday, December 14, 2015 – 3:00 PM Speaker Seyed Saleh Moosavi khaleghi MA student, Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran Title ENZ and MNZ Applications in Impedance Matching Abstract In some groups of metamaterial such as ENZ (𝜀 near zero) and MNZ (𝜇 near zero) we observed tunneling and supercoupling and squeezing phenomena. These phenomena cause the electromagnetic fields resonance and during the resonance, properly shaped and pass through the arbitrary channels. We use these phenomena to matching impedance for several transmission line such as microstrip line, strip line and rectangular waveguide. This method very easy to build and has a low profile and the senility of this method to value of impedance of one hand is very low. (I mean, the resonance occur a little lower\upper than previous resonance.). Another advantage of this method is that the bandwidth of this matching is depend on the bandwidth of ENZ\MNZ. Usually we give bandwidth about 10% around the center frequency. Speaker Biography Seyed Saleh Moosavi Khaleghi received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2014. Now he's studying M.S. degree in AmirKabir University of Tehran .His researches generally are in the applications of ENZ and MNZ Metamaterials in impedance matching.
