Create a 6-slide PowerPoint* presentation to provide information about yourself to
your classmates. Save your presentation with the following file name: Last name
First Initial AboutMe.ppt (i.e. BlowJ. AboutMe.ppt) in the Grass Lake S Drive,
Teacher (Stroming file), “In Box”. (I will show you how to do this in class.)
1. Slide One: Your name and your digital picture inserted into the
presentation.

3. Slide Two: Your birthday and two significant events that occurred on that
day in history. You can use the following site to discover the significant
events:

4. Slide Three: Your first name and its meaning. If your name is unusual and
no information is available, ask your family to explain the origin of your name
and include its meaning on this slide. You can use the following sites to
research the history and meaning of many names.

5. Slide Four: Your favorite meal. List your favorite meal including the main
course, two side dishes, a dessert, and a beverage. Include a picture for
each food item, too. You could use the Google Images to locate images of
your favorite foods.

6. Slide Five: Your family photo scanned into the presentation. Use text
boxes and arrows to identify each person and his/her relationship to you.
7. Slide Six: Your choice. Tell and show a hobby, zodiac symbol, talent or
significant aspect of your culture to share with your audience.
8. Save your slide presentation to the Stroming file (S drive) in the Inbox
folder AboutMe.
9. Print one copy of your presentation with 6 slides per page, staple to this
rubric, and hand in for grading.
** If you do not have access to the PowerPoint program at home, you can always
make a Prezi. This is an on-line Presentation tool (i.e. you create and store it “in
the cloud”). Talk to me or check out the document, How to Make a Prezi, on my
website to find out how to do this.
