VENDOR PROFILES
Geoff Edwards
Judicious purchases from Henry George and Plunkett and Tassi have assisted Geoff’s progress with his birds. He consistently aims to breed large long
birds with good feather and fertility and has been highly successful in all shows he has exhibited in recent years with many being selected for state
representation in a wide variety of classes.
Peter Glassenbury
Peter has been breeding and exhibiting budgies since joining as a junior in 1959. Work commitments saw him out of the hobby for several years and he
recommenced in the early eighties as a novice and in three years was an open breeder. While specializing in Blackeyes he has had up to 14 birds in the
SA team in a year. Three National winners and many placings in the top 6 at nationals in many varieties see Peter as a good judge of a Budgerigar. He is
a Major award judge as well as a National judge.
John Mulley
John has continuously represented the state at ANBC shows for more than two decades. He has won at national level for SA with Opaline AOSV and
Blackeyed Self, been runner-up in Clearwings three times and has had more than 30 birds placed in the top seven nationally across many classes. Closer
to home he has had 29 State champions and has regularly appeared in the top ten at club shows, which includes grand champions.
Kerry & Marie Murphy
Long term breeders in SA whose birds are much sought after and include bloodlines from top Victorian breeders.
Polly Heel
Polly represented SA at national level in 2013 and is a Lutino and Fallow enthusiast.
Lloyd & Helen Edwards
Now specializing in Fallows they regularly have fallows in the SA Team which are highly competitive at national level.
Michael Crossley
Michael won at National level in 2002 with a Yellowface. He has been a consistent winner at both club and Logan Shield with different varieties.
George & Bev Jones
This is another developing partnership which aims to specialise in breeding quality Lutinos and Albinos. Although they only have a small stud George
and Bev have represented SA at National level consistently for the last three years.
Peter Simic
Peter specialises in Clearwings for which he has won many awards at Club, State and National level. At recent Nationals he gained 3rd place in 2013
and 5th place in 2014 in the Clearwing Class.
Jason & Wayne Weidenhofer
Wayne specialises in Clearbodies and Greywings with success at State and National level and was recently appointed as a Judge. His son, Jason,
commenced breeding in the mid 1990’s and rapidly progressed through to an Open breeder at an early age. He has won numerous Diplomas at club and
State level with National representation since 2002. Their stud was initially based on Podger & Ritchie and continues with Kakoschke bloodlines
together with Champion Victorian breeders B Hunt, Ian Hunter and A Howes.
Sue and Colin Norris
Sue and Colin have been breeding and exhibiting budgerigars for fifteen years. They have gained Club success with many top ten champions, best of
colour varieties and Grand Champion. They have represented the State on several occasions, with a national winner as a Novice Breeder. In recent
years they have purchased Kakoschke birds, also Bridgeman and Slade birds which have complimented their good lines.
Marshall Family
The family consists of Brian and Betty Marshall, and their son Ian. The family has been breeding and exhibiting budgerigars for 30 years. The Marshall
Family regularly have birds represent South Australia at the ANBC level, with 1st place at the 2007 ANBC show in the Albino class and 2nd place at the
2009 ANBC in the Lacewing class. Recent results include 2nd, 6th & 14th place at the 2011 ANBC in the Lacewing class. At the 2014 Nationals they
were awarded 1st and 2nd in the Recessive Pied Class.
Dennis Lomman
As an Open exhibitor for only six years Dennis is a regular major award winner at Club Shows and has had birds represent SA at the Nationals for the
past eight years. In the past three years he has achieved seven first placing at the SA State Show and in 2013 a 3rd placing in the Grey Green Class at
the Nationals. At the 2014 Nationals he was awarded 1st and 2nd in the Normal Violet Class. His initial bloodlines were based on Kakoschke and H
George and in recent years have included T&L Cripps.
Sue Adams
Sue Adams has been exhibiting budgerigars for ten years, progressing rapidly to Open. She has won Grand Champion in B.S.S.A. Breeders Show in
2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 together with representing our State in the Nationals since 2006. Her lines are based on Mulley & Stafford,
Lange(Akriditis),T & L Cripps & Kakoschke. She specialises in Clearbodies, Cinnamons and Normal Skys & Greys. At the 2014 Nationals she was
awarded 2nd in the Clearbody Class.
Malcolm Loveridge
Malcolm is a long term breeder of quality budgerigars in South Australia. Malcolm has represented the State on many occasions and always does well
on the show bench. Malcolm is also a Major Award Judge as well as a National Judge and breeds many varieties in quantity and quality.
Graham Evans
A long term breeder in SA and has downsized his stud due to housing space. While only a small stud Graham continues to breed quality birds in the
limited space available and gets birds on the top bench at shows.
Doug & Ruth Lange
Doug and Ruth have been breeding and exhibiting budgerigars for 36 years. Their birds have won numerous Grand Champions and Opposite sex
awards and Best of colour series awards, and have regularly represented S.A. at National level. Their bloodline is based on Akritidis. Their most
memorable occasions at the Nationals have been 2nd & 3rd with Grey Cocks in 2004, and with their 1st with a Light Green Cock in 2009. At the 2014
Nationals they were awarded 1st in the Crested Class.
Tracy Haskell
As an Intermediate breeder Tracey has already represented SA at national level and has won numerous awards at Club level.
