The Council on Aging of Martin County’s
2016 Sage Awards
Saturday, February 27th, 2016
Charles & Rae Kane Center
900 SE Salerno Road | Stuart, FL | 34997
The Council on Aging commits itself to helping seniors live well at any age, by
remaining independent, healthy and living in their own homes. In the spirit of this mission,
the Council presents the 2016 Sage Awards to honor standout seniors in Martin County and St.
Lucie County who continue living purposeful lives by offering their experiences, professional
skills and compassionate hearts to their communities.
Despite the end of a career, not all seniors retire their knowledge, ambition, or
leadership, but instead share their wisdom to better their communities. The Sage Awards will
recognize service-driven seniors and honor them for making significant impacts in the world,
while displaying a positive image of aging to younger generations.
The awards will be presented during a ceremony dinner held at the Kane Center in
Stuart, Florida, on Saturday, February 27, 2016. The proceeds from this event will benefit the
charitable work of the Council on Aging of Martin County, a private non-profit organization
which provides senior services.
We invite members of the community to nominate a senior you know who has
exemplified exceptional commitment and achievement in one of the seven categories:
Arts
Faith-Based Community
Healthcare/Medicine
Military/Veterans Support
Professional/Business Community
Social or Political Advocacy
Volunteerism
Please refer to the nomination form for further explanation of each of the award
