DISTRICT LEVEL AWARDS 2014
_____ District Award of Merit - The Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts or Exploring
divisions in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by councils. The award is
available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.
_____ Ron Catlin “Cub Scouter” Award – This award recognizes the efforts of a Cub Scout volunteer who
has significantly contributed to the furtherance of Cub Scouting in the district.
_____ George Kosta “Boy Scouter” Award - This award recognizes the efforts of a Boy Scout volunteer who
has significantly contributed to the furtherance of Boy Scouting in the district.
_____ John Schaub F. T. D. Award - This award is given to a person who has been a tireless, diligent worker
“For The District”.
_____ John Denninger Award - This award is given in recognition of outstanding service by Scouters in the
district who, because of concentrated work in a comparatively restricted area, might not receive due
recognition or other honors from the National Council.
_____ Scoutmaster of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Scoutmaster in the district. Those
nominated should be Scouters whose contributions to their troop in 2014, as well as to their community and
religious institution, bring credit to the Boy Scouts of America.
_____ Cubmaster of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Cubmaster in the district. Those
nominated should be Scouters whose contributions to their pack in 2014, as well as to their community and
religious institution, bring credit to the Boy Scouts of America.
_____ Venture Crew Advisor of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Venture Crew Advisor in the
district. Those nominated should be Scouters whose contributions to their venture crew in 2014, as well as
to their community and religious institution, bring credit to the Boy Scouts of America.
_____ Cub Scout of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Cub Scout in the district. Those nominated
should be Cub Scouts whose contributions to their pack, school, community and religious institution, bring
credit to the Boy Scouts of America.
_____ Webelos of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Webelos in the district. Those nominated
should be Webelos whose contributions to their pack, school, community and religious institution, bring
credit to the Boy Scouts of America.
_____ Boy Scout of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Boy Scout in the district. Those nominated
should be Scouts whose contributions to their troop, school, community and religious institution, bring credit
to the Boy Scouts of America.
_____ Venturer of the Year - This award honors the outstanding Venturer in the district. Those nominated
should be Scouts whose contributions to their venture crew, school, community and religious institution,
bring credit to the Boy Scouts of America.
