vegetables grown in Lancaster County. Each box will be a 3/4 bushel, and include a
variety of greens, roots, herbs, seasonal veggies, fruit, and eggs, cheese, butter, grits,

would like to not receive a share below, or contact us at info@smuckerfarmsdc.com 2
weeks in advance to request to not receive a share for a certain week.
Spring (April-June): Cool, unpredictable weather is typical for spring in Lancaster
county, PA. You can expect crops that thrive in cool temperatures and some very earlyseason fruit. This season’s crops are heavy on the greens, so expect to receive many
greens through May and June. Expect asparagus, broccoli, Swiss chard, garlic scapes,
romaine, bibb and baby mix lettuce, radishes, rhubarb, scallions, peas, snow peas,
spinach and strawberries.
Summer (June-August): Mid-July brings hot, humid days and nights to Lancaster County
and night-shade plants like cucumbers and tomatoes thrive! In the summer months of
July, and August you can expect the following fruits and veggies in your share; green,
yellow and red string beans, beets, black berries, green and red cabbage, cantaloupes,
cucumbers, eggplant, Lima beans, onions, peppers of all sorts, potatoes, summer squash,
sweet corn, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon and zucchini.
Fall (September-November): Humidity wanes in September and cool nights bring back
great conditions for growing nutrient-dense cool weather crops. During September and
October Lancaster County farms produce a huge harvest, reminding us to “put some by”
for leaning times. Expect broccoli, brussel sprouts, red and green cabbage, carrots,
cauliflower, collard greens, fennel, kale, leeks, romaine, bibb and baby lettuce, parsnips,
spinach, turnips and winter squash.
Winter (December-March): A wide variety of fresh greenhouse and root vegetables that
will include spinach, arugula, bok choi, beets, kale, mustard greens, romaine, cauliflower,
leeks, sweet potatoes, squash, mixed baby greens, heads of lettuce, and potatoes in 3/4
