Hannah Eyles, Rosny College Certificate II in Community Recreation Hannah aims to complete a Certificate III and IV in fitness to become a personal trainer and she plans to become a physical education teacher and to teach swimming. Rosie Griffiths, Rosny College Certificate II in Tourism Rosie would like to travel extensively and one day become an events or restaurant manager. Madeline Jago, Marist Regional College and Stepping Ahead Training & Development Certificate III in Children’s Services Madeline would like to work in Children’s Services and plans to study further in this area in the future. Georgia MacGibbon, Hobart College Certificate II in Tourism This year Georgia plans to complete her aerobic instructor’s training to enable her to run her own business. She also aims to work overseas to broaden her cultural experiences. Georgia’s goal is to work in Events Management. Morgan Ralston, Marist Regional College Certificate II in Tourism This year Morgan will be studying a Bachelor in Business at the University of Tasmania on the Cradle Coast with an aim to work in tourism or events management in the future. Kody Roughley, Claremont College Certificate III in Information Technology Kody will continue working in a local computer store whilst completing a VET Hospitality course. He aims for a career incorporating his interest in information technology and finance Guy Swan, Claremont College Certificate II in Music Guy is enrolled in a Bachelor of Visual Communication at the University of Tasmania and plans a career in this field. James Tassell, Claremont College Certificate II in Sport and Recreation James will continue with senior secondary studies this year. He has a traineeship with KFC. He hopes to have a career as a fire fighter or train to become a sports teacher Laxmi Timsina, Launceston College Certificate III in Children’s Services Laxmi plans to do casual work in a Child Care Centre while studying for a Diploma of Children’s Services at the Tasmania Polytechnic. Eventually she would like to take on further university studies to become a teacher. Hayley Whayman, Guilford Young College Certificate III in Children’s Services Hayley plans to commence a Diploma of Children’s Services whilst working part-time. She would like to own and operate a family day care centre in the future. Kristoffer (Kenneth) Jimenez from Guilford Young College. (Unable to be present at the Award Ceremony) Academic studies Rosa Bishop, Scotch Oakburn College In 2012 Rosa will combine volunteer English teaching in southern China with learning Mandarin and travelling around east Asia. In 2013 she hopes to study at the Australian National University with possible future career options in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, non-government, not-for-profit organisations or the United Nations. Clare Browne, Fahan School Clare intends to study a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne for 2012. Her goals are to finish a degree in genetics and maths and become a maths/science teacher. James Cameron, Launceston Church Grammar School James will study a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. His goals are to pursue his interests in chemistry and to participate in a wide range of sports. Melanie Cocker, The Friends’ School After a gap year in 2012, Melanie plans to study medicine at Monash University. Her goal is to be an obstetrician and practise rural medicine. Grace Constable, St Michael’s Collegiate School Grace will be studying for a Bachelor of Science (majoring in physics). She would like to complete a PhD and make a valuable contribution to society in an area of science. Isaac Dalla Fontana, Elizabeth College Isaac will study a combined Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Tasmania, majoring in chemistry or biochemistry. He hopes to take up an international exchange and wants to work in technical fields of law or in promoting evidence-based public policy. Emily Forsyth, Launceston College Emily will be studying an Arts/Law Degree at the University of Tasmania in 2012. Grace Fulton, St Michael’s Collegiate School Grace intends to study economics and will continue studying German. She plans to undertake postgraduate studies to equip her for work in a global environment. Andrew Gardner, The Friends’ School Andrew plans to study a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Tasmania in 2012. He would like to work as an Engineer and complete his science degree focussing on mathematics. Aden Handasyde, Rosny College Aden plans to study Biotechnology and Medical Research at the University of Tasmania. His goals include studying ageing and cancer-related medical research, focusing upon potential cures. Ellie House, Marist Regional College Ellie plans to study either a Bachelor of Speech Pathology with a Diploma of Languages in Adelaide, or a Bachelor of Music followed by a Master in Music Therapy in Melbourne. As a Speech Pathologist or Music Therapist, Ellie wants to help people unlock their potential. Georgia Jaffray, Marist Regional College Georgia plans to study science and engineering at Monash University, specialising in chemical engineering. Her goal is to help others through making modern industrial processes more sustainable. Cassandra Joore-Short, Launceston College Cassandra intends to study Art theory at the University of Tasmania and hopes to travel to North America. Cassandra wants to complete postgraduate study at either Oxford or Cambridge University, with her ideal career as an Art Historian in the British Museum. Dustin Viet Anh Le, Launceston College Dustin plans to study medicine at Monash University in Melbourne. His goal is to become a doctor with the skills to help those suffering pain. Sarah Lock, The Friends’ School During 2012 Sarah will pursue her lifelong passion by studying dance fulltime at the Brent Street Studios in Sydney. Sarah hopes to explore a brief career in dance before returning to Hobart to complete qualifications in medicine. Elliott Lovell, The Friends’ School During 2012 Elliot plans to work locally then travel overseas. Elliot is still formulating his goals for the future, but he is confident that his studies will be in science and music. Nanak Narulla, The Hutchins School Nanak will be moving to Sydney in February to study medicine at the University of New South Wales. Nanak hopes to graduate with a respectable score and to succeed professionally as a physician. Eleanor Nicklason, Elizabeth College In 2012 Eleanor plans to move to Melbourne to start a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. Her goal is to find an area of of science or medicine that she is truly passionate about and to make a lasting contribution in that field. Caitlin Paul, St Michael’s Collegiate School Caitlin plans to study medicine at the University of Tasmania. Her goals are to finish her degree and then to work or undertake further study overseas for a few years. Penelope Player, Scotch Oakburn College Penelope plans to go to the University of Sydney to study aerospace engineering in their space stream. In the future she hopes to be involved in a space program, either as an astronaut or as a director. Clive Reekie, Hobart College Clive plans to undertake a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Tasmania. He also plans to undertake a diploma of musical performance part time at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music to further develop his understanding of music. Clive’s’ goals include specialising in general practice or anaesthetics, while pursuing his passion for music. Subhashaan Sreedharan, Hobart College Subhashaan will take a gap year in 2012. His future goal is to study and work in the field of veterinary science where he can make a difference to the lives of animals. Zachary Williams, Launceston College This year Zachary will commence studying medicine at the University of Tasmania.
