Playhouse Great Friends to Families Honor Awards:

Description of the award:
Now in its fifth year, the Great Friend to Families award is given annually by The Children’s Playhouse
to recognize sustained contributions by individuals to the well-being of young children and their
families in the High Country area.
We accept nominations in two categories: the Helping Hands and the Helping Hearts.
 Helping Hands awards celebrate professionals who over the course of their careers have
shown extraordinary dedication to improving the lives of children and families.
 Helping Hearts awards recognize individuals who have touched the lives of children and
families through generous philanthropy and/or outstanding volunteerism.
How the winners will be honored:
We will honor award winners in each category at the luncheon on Saturday, March 2nd and one
overall winner will be further recognized as the 2013 Great Friend to Families award-winner.
The Great Friend to Families award-winner will be announced at the luncheon and will be presented
with a piece of local art and $500 to donate to the High Country nonprofit of their choice. All Helping
Hands and Helping Hearts award winners will be recognized at the luncheon.
How to nominate your “Hometown Hero”:
Please fill out the attached form completely. All nominations must be submitted by Friday, February
15th. The award-winners will be selected by an outside committee of distinguished local leaders.
The nomination form begins on the next page. All nominations must include full contact information
for the nominee and nominator, a one page nomination statement, and the names and contact
information for at least 3 people who support the nomination.

The Children’s Playhouse. The award will be much more meaningful to the honoree if supporters
attend the event as well.
