Robert H. Friesen, MD Professional Biography Robert Friesen was educated at Duke University (AB) and the University of Kansas (MD). After completing his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Colorado, he spent a year in London training in cardiac and pediatric anesthesia at St. Thomas’ Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (1975-1976). He has been a consultant anesthesiologist at Children’s Hospital in Denver since 1976 and is Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Colorado. Research interests Dr Friesen has broad clinical research interests within pediatric anesthesia, including cardiac anesthesia and intensive care, sedation issues, and age-related responses to anesthetics.
