Conditional admission is available for all bachelor degree programs. Students who are academically admissible to the major of their choice but who do not meet the University’s English proficiency requirement for direct admission may apply for FDU’s Pre-University Program or for conditional admission through the ELS Language center. Both programs are offered at FDU’s Metropolitan campus.
Fairleigh D ickinson University’s Pre-University Program (PUP)
First year students with a TOEFL IBT score from 68 to 78, an IELTS overall band score of 5.5 or a certificate of completion of ELS English for Academic Purposes (EAP) level 110 may apply to FDU’s PUP which is specifically designed for students with an intermediate level of English proficiency. PUP students take academic courses while improving their English language skills, earning up to 11 credits towards their bachelor degree in their first semester. Transfer students may be considered for admission to FDU’s PUP on a case-by-case basis.

Students must submit an FDU application for International Students and Americans Abroad along with all required documents (www.fdu.edu/global).
The ELS Language Centers’ English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program
First year and transfer students who require intensive English language training will be considered for conditional admission when they apply to the ELS Language Centers’ English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. Upon completion of level 112 of the ELS EAP program, students will matriculate into the major of their choice.
Conditional admission is available for many master’s degree programs. Students who are academically admissible to the major of their choice but who do not meet the University’s English proficiency requirement for direct admission may apply for conditional admission through the ELS Language center located on FDU’s Metropolitan campus. Upon completion of level 112 of the ELS Language Center English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, students will matriculate to the
University.
Programs that offer conditional admission with no GRE/GMAT submission:
Conditional admission is available for master’s degree programs that do not require additional entrance examinations, including:

MPA (Master of Public Administration)

MSA (Master of Sports Administration)

MA in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (TESL/TEFL)

MS in Hospitality Management
Upon completion of ELS EAP level 112, students will matriculate into the university with no additional tests required.

Programs that offer conditional admission with deferred test submission:
Conditional admission is also available for master’s degree programs that require an additional entrance exam as a condition of matriculation to the University, including:

MBA (Master of Business Administration)-all concentrations

MHS in Health Science

MS in Accounting

MS in Computer Engineering

MS in Computer Science

MS in Electrical Engineering

MS in Electronic Commerce

MS in Management Information Systems

MS in Supply Chain Management
Students who are conditionally admitted to these programs are given the opportunity to study and prepare for the GMAT or GRE while attending the ELS language program. In addition to successfully completing ELS EAP Level 112, conditionally admitted students must submit qualifying GMAT scores (for MBA programs, MS in Accounting and MS in
Supply Chain Management) or qualifying GRE scores (for all programs) at least 30 days prior to the start of the semester.
Both the language and entrance exam requirements must be fulfilled in order for a student to matriculate to the University.
All other programs:
Conditional admission is available to all other master’s degree programs that require either GMAT or GRE scores, provided the student submits the qualifying exam score at the time of application.

$165 application fee (payable to ELS)

A completed FDU Application for Admission for International Students and Americans Abroad
(www.fdu.edu/apply). Note-if your scholarship provider uses their own application form, it can be used in lieu of the FDU application.

Attested or official academic records (including transcripts, marksheets, diplomas, national exam results, and certificates or degrees from all secondary and post-secondary schools/universities)

Passport copy

Two (2) letters of recommendation

A scholarship, government sponsorship or financial guarantee letter in your name
Students who are conditionally admitted receive an I-20 or DS 2019 from the ELS Language Center along with a conditional letter of acceptance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
