Description of search strategy and search syntax
Description of Search Strategy
Search #1: Searches titles (TI), abstracts (AB), article keywords (KW) and database assigned descriptors
for articles containing terms associated with language, cognition or IQ. The decision to include terms
related to cognitive and IQ follows from the identification of records whereby a language test was
administered to participants, but was described as a measure to assess cognitive functioning or IQ.
Search #2: Searches titles (TI), abstracts (AB), article keywords (KW) and database assigned descriptors
containing terms related to maltreatment.
Search #3: Combines articles that have terms identified in Search #1 and Search #2.
