RPS Group wanted to avoid their extra office furniture ending up in a
landfill. Committed to social and environmental responsibility, RPS
sought out Green Standards to find the right solutions in making sure
that their desks, bookshelves, telephones and other assets found the
right home. The partnership resulted in 29.6 tons diverted from
landfill. Almost 100% of the items went to eight fortunate Calgary
charities all within an average of 12km from RPS Group’s head office.
“Green Standards was awesome to deal with! Their staff made the
process so very easy from start to finish. RPS was extremely happy
knowing that tons of furniture was diverted from the landfill but even
thrilled with the fact that we were able to help those in our own

Community Association, and
The Third Academy – A nonprofit school for special needs
children, were amongst the
eight
recipients.

RPS Group’s gifts in-kind to the Calgary community were valued at
more than $31,000 dollars. “The quality and near-perfect condition of
the items added to the appearance of professionalism for many of
these charities”, said Jonathan Milnes, Green Standards Manager of
Business Development, “it also improved the functionality and safety
standard and just makes it a nice place to work!”
