EARLY SUPPORT CORE OFFER
The purpose of the Early Support Core Offer is to support children young people and their families
who are Coping or showing signs of Struggling to Cope (Levels 2 and 3 as defined by the Lancashire
Continuum of Need), to build their capability and capacity for them to manage challenges/difficulties
safely within their home environment and the local community and enable them to Thrive (Thriving
as defined by the Lancashire Continuum of Need).
The Framework Agreement for 2013/15 has four agreed specialist themes and contracts have been
awarded as follows:




Domestic Abuse: to be delivered countywide by the Greater Together consortium;
Emotional Health and Well Being: to be delivered by Child Action North West in Central
and North Lancashire and by Barnardo's in East Lancashire;
Family Support: to be delivered countywide by the Greater Together consortium;
Parenting: to be delivered countywide by Action for Children.
Service delivery has now commenced on these contracts and providers are now accepting requests
for support (form accessible from the Lancashire Children's Trust). Information outlining the types
of support available from providers is available on pages 2 and 3 of this document. Please note that
this is not a full and extensive list of support available and it may be worth contacting the relevant
provider or your local early support coordinator for further information.
To access the services, complete a request for support form and send to the provider
delivering in the district (see pages 5-7 for a directory).

This service is part of a wider strategy to prevent and minimise the effects of domestic abuse across Lancashire and
will provide a range of therapeutic interventions which are designed to improve the relationship between mother and
child, whilst also helping children to overcome the effects of witnessing and/or experiencing domestic violence.
Interventions used include:
o One to one work with children and young people around the impact of domestic violence
o Helping hands
o You, me and mum programme
o Recovery toolkit for children and young people – group work intervention
o 'What about me' programme
o Freedom programme for adults
o Recovery toolkit for adults
