This used to be a very good surgery but
unfortunately now
I have attended this surgery for over 10 years now. It
WAS very good and you could get an appointment
easily, the GP's most of the time listened to you and I
felt satisfied. However, I have had some really bad
experiences with a number of GP's there recently.
One GP showed no concern about the pain I was in
and rushed me in and out. Another this year had
forgotten what medication I was on and I had to
remind them. The last straw was a GP this week who
was very arrogant, unsympathetic, cocky and
extremely awful to me. I have therefore decided to
move away from this surgery now and hope to get a
better GP who actually cares. Not much to ask for
really. Think about this surgery before you sign up,
they may have a 4.5 / 5 rating but the cracks are
there for all to see really.
What a change
Over the last few months, there has been a dramatic
improvement with the service at Lofthouse surgery,
on the telephone and in the reception. Having what
can only be described as near hostile manners from
some of the previous staff it so refreshing to be
greeted by such a friendly atmosphere with nothing
been too much trouble, my complements to the
management and staff for such a change. Big Well
Done.
Super Surgery and Great Care
This is a brilliant surgery.
The front desk staff are polite and efficient. The Doctors
are also very good.
Two of the doctors in particular are superb. Their care
has been second to none. Both of these doctors are
efficient, friendly, approachable, thorough and caring.
Without their professionalism and brilliant care, this would
have been a very different year for me and my husband.
We wanted to leave this feedback as this really is a
superb surgery and we feel this should be noted and
recognised.
Questionable
Experiences depend wildly on the Dr you see and what
you are attending for, appointments often seem rushed
and leave you feeling unsupported.
Multiple prescriptions have been lost or delayed for a
length of time, which have caused undue suffering and
inconvenience.

Excellent access to a caring service
Excellent doctors and surgery
I have been registered at this practice for almost a year.
Compared with recent experiences of practices in other
parts of Leeds, I have been hugely impressed on a
number of levels.
I have been with this surgery for over 13 years and
seen all the doctors, nurse and midwife. I can honestly
say they are excellent, they provide quick appointments
when required, excellent polite staff. They are nearly
always on time or even early and I have, to my
knowledge had to wait once because of an emergency
call out. Always received excellent advice and medical
care.
Firstly, although I have sometimes been placed on hold
for a few minutes to get through to receptionists, I have
usually got an appointment with a GP on the same day
when needed. I was also impressed with how
accommodating the practice nurses and receptionists
were when I needed to make appointments at short
notice for daily dressing changes following unplanned
surgery. They worked together to accommodate my
needs and at no point made me feel like a burden.
Secondly, all of the GPs and practice nurses that I have
encountered have been extremely caring and
sympathetic - something that should not be taken for
granted. I am always impressed that they have read my
recent medical history before I walk through the door,
again something that is not always the case. This also
creates an important and reassuring impression of
continuity of care and familiarity.
The Manse
Great service
Recently transferred to this practice... Super-efficient
staff...only regret is I stayed with another practice for so
long as they were in the main rude and inefficient... I
honestly try to stay away from the doctors and
appreciate the quick service...if I have to visit I'm not
there to chat just to get a diagnosis and fix and on my
way.
Seeing a doctor
I would not hesitate to recommend the practice.
I rarely see the same doctor twice, the attitude of some
GPS gives me the impression that they want you out of
the surgery as soon as possible, and you are still
unaware as what the symptoms are.
