About DePaul Community Resources
DePaul Community Resources is dedicated to transforming the lives of children, adults and families with
special needs. We are a non-profit, independent, human services organization that was incorporated in 1977.
We began by sponsoring a Treatment Foster Care program to provide a supportive family environment for
children with special needs. Since that time, the organization has continued to evolve in response to the
changing needs of the community, children, youth and families. The Developmental Disabilities program was
added in 1991 as a natural extension of our experience in serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
In 2002, an Adoption Program was implemented in response to the increased emphasis on adoption from the
foster care system for children with special needs.
Our programs are integrated, flexible and family-centered. We accept referrals from local Departments of
Social Services, Community Services Boards, Juvenile Courts, State Training Centers and birth or adoptive
parents. Our main office in Roanoke and branch offices in Abingdon, Amelia, Cedar Bluff, Charlottesville,
Christiansburg, Danville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg and Waynesboro serve the communities of Central and
Western Virginia. Currently, we provide services to more than 500 children, adults and families through these
offices.
Through our programs, Treatment Foster Care, Developmental Disabilities and Adoption, DePaul has been
providing the highest quality of care to the individuals and families we serve. DePaul Community Resources
has been making a positive difference in Central and Western Virginia for more than 36 years.
