Character Counts! Our Tesoro Tigers practice good character daily showing
responsibility, respect, caring, compassion, trustworthiness, and good citizenship.
Good character is rewarded through praise, prizes and our Tesoro Yellow Tickets.
Thank you for reminding your children of the importance of great character.
Transitional K and Kindergarten Round Up will be the week of February 23rd for
the 2015-2016 school year. Children who turn 5 by September 1st are eligible for
kindergarten and children who turn 5 between September 2nd and December 2nd
are eligible for the Transitional Kindergarten program. Please bring an original birth
certificate or passport, verification of immunization and two proofs of residence
(preferably Gas and Electric) when you register.

Saugus Union School District Recruiting for Measure EE Citizens' Oversight
Committee
The Governing Board of the Saugus Union School District is recruiting volunteers
to apply for its new Measure EE Citizens' Oversight Committee. The Measure EE
Citizens' Oversight Committee is mandated by law and is designed to ensure
accountability to the public. Applications for participation on the Committee must
be submitted on the District's Citizens' Oversight Committee (COC) Application
Form. The Application Form and more information is available upon request
at 661-294-5300 and can be downloaded from the Saugus Union School District
Website at www.saugususd.org. The application period closes at 4:00 pm on
February 20, 2015 and final selection and appointment of the Committee will be by
the Governing Board at the March 17, 2015 Governing Board Meeting.

Please be aware that we have had several reported cases of Strep Throat. The
incubation period is 1 - 3 days and below is a list of the symptoms:

The 2015 Father/Son Laser Tag is Friday, March 6th, from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
at Valencia Laser Blast.
Registration forms went home TODAY! Buy your tickets early! Space is
Limited! This event sold out VERY quickly last year. Tickets are $30 (Father & Son)
and $15 each additional child.

YEARBOOK
The yearbook presale is going on throughout the month of February. The
presale price for the first hard cover yearbook is $26, and the additional sibling
books are available for $23. We're pleased to offer the personalization of the
yearbook again this year. Please check out different icons to reflect your child's
interests/hobbies that can be stamped along with your child's name. Tiger
Tracks are available as well if you wish to write a special message to your
student. The presale prices, the personalization, and the Tiger Tracks are
available for February only. The next opportunity to purchase the yearbooks
will be in June when the books are delivered. The books will be sold at the
regular price of $30.00 (cash only), on a first come basis and no discounts will
be offered. So, don't miss out and order your copies today. The order forms
were sent home, and additional forms are available in the school office. If you

HEALTH WEEK
We are in need of a parent volunteer to coordinate and oversee activities for Health
No Schoo
Week, March 16th-20th; a week designated by our district to highlight the
importance of health for our children. This is a great opportunity for anyone
passionate about Health and Fitness to get involved at our school. Activities can be
planned for two or three days of the week and can include lunchtime theme-related
crafts or dancing, small rewards for healthy lunch choices or dress up days. If you

Please continue to send in your BoxTops, we collect them all year. You may
also go to BTFE.com and earn more BoxTops while online shopping.
PULL TABS
We can make a difference in the lives of the families at the Pasadena Ronald
McDonald House. By collecting tabs of all sizes - from soda, cat and dog food, food
cans, tennis ball canisters, etc.
FACTS: It takes 1,267 pull tabs to make a pound......... 1 million pull tabs, when
recycled, will provide a night's lodging for 25 families at the Pasadena Ronald
McDonald House! One tab on its own may not be worth much, but if we all "pull
together" we can make a difference!
