writer followed the steps of the writing process and
list ideas for creating and publishing a final copy.

Students will explain the 6 traits of writing. Students
will choose a good topic and use details to hold
interest, create a strong beginning and ending.
Students will choose specific nouns and verbs,
improve sentence fluency and style, and use correct
conventions. Students will use adjectives, commas
and prepositional phrases correctly.
Students will understand rubrics, revise, edit and
assess writing using a rubric, and participate in peer
editing.
Students will develop good listening habits and skills
for group work. Students will plan and create a Web
site and publish writing online. Students will
understand parts of a portfolio and choose writing for
a portfolio.
